17 - Bob Coady-Support Cave Creek.  Our merchants don’t count

This is from the 12/09 Carefree Town Council Meeting. Concilman Bob Coady states that, in this economy we need to support our neighbor, Cave Creek.  Why he would think that we should support Cave Creek over one of our own merchants is beyond comprehension, especially in this economy.  Mayor Schwan, quite correctly, supported Lowe’s by choosing not to compete with their tree recycle program with a separate Town sponsored program.

    See Carefree Truth #30.

Fact: 90% of the people who droped of trees took advantage of the 10% discount offered by Lowe’s.  They dropped off their trees and proceded inside to shop.  Mr. Coady cited this as an incentive for the bulb drop off at Ace Hardware, when discussing the bulb recycling at another meeting, so he is aware of this marketing tool.

2 - "I Am Special" Bob Coady: Carefree Councilman Bob Coady complains about being required to pay for a CD recording of a town meeting, which all citizens must. This is town policy and has been.
