NOTICE OF REGULAR MEETING

OF THE TOWN OF CAREFREE COMMON COUNCIL

WHEN:TUESDAY, OCTOBER 7, 2014

WHERE:CAREFREE TOWN HALL COUNCIL CHAMBERS

TIME:5:00 P.M.

Pursuant to A.R.S. 38-431.02, notice is hereby given to the members of the Common Council of the Town of Carefree, Arizona and to the general public that the members of the Common Council will hold a meeting open to the public on Tuesday, October 7, 2014 at 5:00 p.m. at the Carefree Town Hall Council Chambers located at 100 Easy Street, in Carefree, Arizona.

For any item listed on the agenda, the Council may vote to go into Executive Sessions for advice of counsel and/or to discuss records and information exempt by law or rule from public inspection, pursuant to Arizona Revised Statues §38-431.03.

The agenda for the meeting is as follows:

ITEM #1Approval of the September 3, 2014 Regular Session Town Council Meeting Minutes.

ITEM #2Acceptance into the public record of the September, 2014 paid bills.

ITEM #3Acceptance of the cash receipts and disbursements report for August, 2014.

ITEM #4Review, discussion and possible action regarding Resolution 2014-08 for the abandonment of portion of a highway easement located on lots 36, 41, and 42 of The Reserve at Tranquil Trail.

ITEM #5Acceptance of the Application for Special Event Liquor License for the Foothills Animal Rescue Whiskers & Wine fundraiser at Sanderson Lincoln Pavilion on October 23, 2014 from 5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

ITEM #6Discussion and possible action regarding approval of a Wine Festival/Wine Fair License for Arizona Stronghold Vineyards on October 31, and November 1-2, 2014, from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

ITEM #7Discussion and possible action regarding approval of an Application for Extension of Premises/Patio Permit for Ray Klemp/AZ Wine Company on October 31, and November 1-2, 2014, from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

ITEM #8Discussion and possible action regarding approval of an Application for Extension of Premises/Patio Permit for Ray Klemp/AZ Wine Company in conjunction with the Kiwanis Concert Series – Sinatra and Friends, being held October 25 through October 26, 2014. 

ITEM #9Discussion and possible action regarding approval of a Wine Festival/Wine Fair License for Su Vino Winery on October 31, and November 1-2, 2014, from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

ITEM #10Discussion and possible action regarding approval of a Wine Festival/Wine Fair License for Su Vino Winery on January 16-18, 2015, from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

ITEM #11Discussion and possible action regarding approval of an Extension of Premises/Patio Permit for Ronald Franks/KMA Wines, LLC for the Burger Challenge benefiting Helping Kids with Cancer on November 8, 2014 from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

ITEM #12Discussion and possible action regarding approval of a Special Event License for the Kiwanis Club of Carefree Benefit Foundation for the concert series on the following dates and times:

October 25, 2014 from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.

October 26, 2014 from 1:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.

January 10, 2015 from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.

January 31, 2015 from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.

February 7, 2015 from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.

March 7, 2015 from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.

March 28, 2015 from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.

REGULAR AGENDA:

ITEM #13Call to the Public: Consideration of comments from the public. Pursuant to Section 2-4-7(G) of the Town Code and A.R.S. 38-431.01(H), those wishing to address the Council need not request permission in advance. The public may address the Council on matters not on the agenda. At the conclusion of an open call to the public, individual members of the public body may respond to criticism made by those who have addressed the public body, may ask staff to review a matter, direct staff to study the matter, reschedule the matter for further consideration and decision at a later date, or may ask that a matter be put on a future agenda. However, the Council may not discuss or take legal action at this time. Please limit your comments to not more than 3 minutes.

ITEM #14Current Events.

ITEM #15Discussion and possible action to go into Executive Session in accordance with A.R.S. §§ 38-431.03(A)(3),(A)(4), and (A)(7) to discuss personnel matters, judicial services for the Carefree – Cave Creek Consolidated Court, and contract negotiations concerning the Carefree Town Center.
