NOTICE OF REGULAR MEETING

OF THE TOWN OF CAREFREE COMMON COUNCIL

WHEN:    TUESDAY, MARCH 3, 2015   

WHERE:    CAREFREE TOWN HALL COUNCIL CHAMBERS

TIME:    5:00 P.M.

Pursuant to A.R.S. §38-431.02, notice is hereby given to the members of the Carefree Town Council of Carefree, Arizona and to the general public that the members of the Carefree Town  Council will hold a meeting open to the public at the Carefree Council Chambers located at 100 Easy Street, in Carefree, Arizona.

For any item listed on the agenda, the Council may vote to go into Executive Sessions for advice of counsel and/or to discuss records and information exempt by law or rule from public inspection, pursuant to Arizona Revised Statues §38-431.03.

The agenda for the meeting is as follows:

One or more members of the Council may be unable to attend the meeting in person and may participate by technological means or methods pursuant to A.R.S. §38-431(4).

ITEM #1    Approval of the February 3, 2015 Regular Session Town Council Meeting Minutes.

ITEM #2    Approval of the February 10, 2015 Special Session Town Council Meeting Minutes.

ITEM #3    Acceptance into the public record of the February, 2015 paid bills.

ITEM #4    Acceptance of the cash receipts and disbursements report for January, 2015.

ITEM #5    Discussion and approval of a Fair/Festival License Application for Cory Whalin of Su Vino Winery for the Sonoran Art League Art Show from Friday, March 20, 2015 from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.; Saturday, March 21, 2015 from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.; and Sunday, March 22, 2015 from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

ITEM #6    Discussion and approval of a Fair/Festival License Application for Eric Glomski of Page Springs Cellars & Vineyards for the Sonoran Art League Art Show from Friday, March 20, 2015 from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.; Saturday, March 21, 2015 from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.; and Sunday, March 22, 2015 from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

ITEM #7    Discussion and approval of a Special Event License for Our Lady of Joy Catholic Church on Sunday, March 15, 2015 from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

ITEM #8    Discussion and approval of a Special Event Permit for WHEAT/Christ the Lord Lutheran Church for the 24th Annual Foothills Hunger Walk/Run starting at the Sanderson Lincoln Pavilion and walking and running through neighborhood streets as shown in the application. Saturday, September 26, 2015 from 7:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

REGULAR AGENDA:

ITEM #9    Call to the Public: Consideration of comments from the public. Pursuant to Section 2-4-7(G) of the Town Code and A.R.S. 38-431.01(H), those wishing to address the Council need not request permission in advance. The public may address the Council on matters not on the agenda. At the conclusion of an open call to the public, individual members of the public body may respond to criticism

    made by those who have addressed the public body, may ask staff to review a matter, direct staff to study the matter, reschedule the matter for further consideration and decision at a later date, or may ask that a matter be put on a future agenda. However, the Council may not discuss or take legal action at this time. Please limit your comments to not more than 3 minutes.

ITEM #10    Current Events.

ITEM #11    Review, discussion and possible action to accept into the public record a legal opinion from municipal law attorney, Bill Sims regarding the process for filling the position of Mayor.

ITEM #12    Update and discussion regarding the progress and next steps for the Town Center Revitalization Plan being conducted by Michael Baker Company.

ITEM #13    Update and discussion regarding the Maricopa Association of Governments (MAG) Bicycle Safety Lane Design and Construction Grants.

ITEM #14    Review, discussion and possible action to award a street repair contract to restore sections of asphalt located at wet wash crossing on Sombrero Road, Tranquil Trail Road and Piedra Grande Drive.
