NOTICE OF REGULAR MEETING

OF THE TOWN OF CAREFREE COMMON COUNCIL

Pursuant to A.R.S. 38-431.02, notice is hereby given to the members of the Council of the Town of Carefree, Arizona and to the general public that the members of the Town Council will hold a meeting open to the public on Tuesday May 6, 2014 at 5:00 p.m. at the Carefree Town Hall Council Chambers located at 100 Easy Street, in Carefree, Arizona.

The agenda for the meeting is as follows:

One or more members of the Council may be unable to attend the meeting in person and may participate by technological means or methods pursuant to A.R.S. §38-431(4).

All items listed hereunder are considered to be routine by the Town Council and will be enacted by one motion. There will be no separate discussion of these items unless a Councilmember so requests, in which event the item will be removed from the consent agenda and will be discussed separately:

ITEM #1Approval of the April 1, 2014 Regular Session Town Council Meeting Minutes.

ITEM #2Approval of the April 14, 2014 Special Session Town Council Meeting and Budget Workshop Minutes.

ITEM #3Acceptance into the public record of the April, 2014 paid bills.

ITEM #4Acceptance of the cash receipts and disbursements report for March, 2014.

ITEM #5Review, discussion and possible action regarding adopting Resolution 2014-05, a Resolution of the Mayor and Town Council of the Town of Carefree, requesting that the Arizona Corporation Commission require Liberty Utilities to immediately initiate a Rate Case to address the allocation of costs in the current rate schedule.

REGULAR AGENDA:

ITEM #6Call to the Public: Consideration of comments from the public. Pursuant to Section 2-4-7(G) of the Town Code and A.R.S. 38-431.01(H), those wishing to address the Council need not request permission in advance. The public may address the Council on matters not on the agenda. At the conclusion of an open

call to the public, individual members of the public body may respond to criticism made by those who have addressed the public body, may ask staff to review a

matter, direct staff to study the matter, reschedule the matter for further consideration and decision at a later date, or may ask that a matter be put on a future agenda. However, the Council may not discuss or take legal action at this time. Please limit your comments to not more than 3 minutes.

ITEM #7Current Events.

ITEM #8Presentation and discussion with Ed Lewis and Kirsten Brown regarding the Easy Street Project.

ITEM #9First reading of Ordinance 2014-01 rescinding Ordinance 1999-05 which required notice to the Maricopa County Sherriff’s office, and regulating the activities and responsibilities of those persons who purchase, rent or use alarm systems devices or services.

ITEM #10Review, discussion and possible action to engage Mike Uhler, a local architect, to prepare conceptual plans for an expansion of the 8 Sundial building. The cost of $2,500 will be taken from contingency funds for the 2013-14 Fiscal Year.

ITEM #11Review, discussion and possible action regarding tentative adoption of the Town of Carefree Budget for Fiscal Year 2014-15 and call for a special meeting and public hearing on June 3, 1014.
