NOTICE OF REGULAR MEETING OF THE TOWN OF CAREFREE COMMON COUNCIL

WHEN: TUESDAY, JUNE 5, 2012

WHERE: CAREFREE TOWN HALL COUNCIL CHAMBERS

TIME: 5:00 P.M.

Pursuant to A.R.S. 38-431.02, notice is hereby given to the members of the Common Council of the Town of Carefree, Arizona and to the general public that the members of the Common Council will hold a meeting open to the public on Tuesday June 5, 2012 at 5:00 p.m. at the Carefree Town Hall Council Chambers located at 100 Easy Street, in Carefree.

The agenda for the meeting is as follows:

Call to Order, Silent Roll Call and Pledge of Allegiance.

CONSENT AGENDA

All items listed hereunder are considered to be routine by the Common Council and will be enacted by one motion. There will be no separate discussion of these items unless a Councilmember so requests, in which event the item will be removed from the consent agenda and will be discussed separately:

ITEM #1- A. Approval of April 24, 2012 Town Council Budget Workshop.

2. B.Approval of May 1, 2012 Town Council Regular Meeting Minutes.
   

ITEM #2- Ratification of May, 2012 paid bills.

ITEM #3- Approval of Proclamation declaring June 21 through 24, 2012 American Legion Days in the Town of Carefree.

REGULAR AGENDA:

ITEM #4- Call to the Public: Consideration and discussion of comments and complaints from the public. Pursuant to Section 2-4-7 G of the Town Code and A.R.S. 38-431.01(G), those wishing to address the Council need not request permission in advance. Action taken as a result of public comment will be limited to directing staff to study the matter or rescheduling the matter for further consideration and decision at a later date. The public

may address the Council on any matter not on the agenda. At the conclusion of an open call to the public, individual members of the public body may respond to criticism made by those who have addressed the public body, may ask staff to review a matter or may ask that a matter be put on a future agenda; however, the Council may not take action at this time. Please limit your comments to not more than 3 minutes.

ITEM #5- Current Events

ITEM #6- Carefree Business Association report and discussion.

ITEM #7- Discussion and possible action regarding the cash receipts and disbursements report for March, 2012.

ITEM #8- Presentation by Owens Harkey regarding 2012-13 Town marketing.

ITEM #9- Discussion and possible action regarding tentative adoption of the Town of Carefree Budget for Fiscal Year 2012-13 and call for a special meeting and public hearing thereon.

ITEM #10- Discussion and possible action regarding business name signs in Town right-of-way.

ITEM #11- Discussion and possible action regarding the following road closures: Ho Hum from Cave Creek Road to Easy Street, Easy Street from Wampum Way to Sundial Circle, Sundial Circle to Nonchalant and Sunshine Place from the west side of the entrance to Town Hall parking to Sundial Circle for the Thunderbird Art and Wine Festivals. The dates are November 1, 2, 3, and 4, 2012, January 17,18, 19 and 20, 2013 and February 28, March 1, 2, 3, 2013 from 5 p.m. on Thursday evening through 6 p.m. on Sunday evening for each of those dates.

ITEM #12- Discussion and possible action regarding Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office contract for July 1, 2012 to June 30, 2015.

ITEM #13- Adjournment.
