NOTICE OF REGULAR MEETING

OF THE TOWN OF CAREFREE COMMON COUNCIL

WHEN: TUESDAY, AUGUST 7, 2012

WHERE: CAREFREE TOWN HALL COUNCIL CHAMBERS

TIME: 5:00 P.M.

Pursuant to A.R.S. 38-431.02, notice is hereby given to the members of the Common Council of the Town of Carefree, Arizona and to the general public that the members of the Common Council will hold a meeting open to the public on Tuesday August 7, 2012 at 5:00 p.m. at the Carefree Town Hall Council Chambers located at 100 Easy Street, in Carefree.

The agenda for the meeting is as follows:

Call to Order and Silent Roll Call.

CONSENT AGENDA

All items listed hereunder are considered to be routine by the Common Council and will be enacted by one motion. There will be no separate discussion of these items unless a Councilmember so requests, in which event the item will be removed from the consent agenda and will be discussed separately:

ITEM #1- A. Approval of July 10, 2012 Town Council Special Meeting and Public Hearing Minutes regarding budget approval.

2. B.Approval of July 10, 2012 Town Council Regular Meeting Minutes.

ITEM #2- Ratification of July, 2012 paid bills.

REGULAR AGENDA:

ITEM #3- Call to the Public: Consideration and discussion of comments and complaints from the public. Pursuant to Section 2-4-7 G of the Town Code and A.R.S. 38-431.01(G), those wishing to address the Council need not request permission in advance. Action taken as a result of public comment will be limited to directing staff to study the matter or rescheduling the matter for further consideration and decision at a later date. The public may address the Council on any matter not on the agenda. At the conclusion of an open call to the public, individual members of the public body may respond to criticism made by those who have addressed the public body, may ask staff to review a matter or may ask that a matter be put on a future agenda; however, the Council may not take action at this time. Please limit your comments to not more than 3 minutes.

ITEM #4- Current Events

ITEM #5- Discussion and possible action regarding the cash receipts and disbursements report for June, 2012.

ITEM #6- Discussion and possible action regarding APS updates regarding recent the ACC rate Settlement, the Renewable Energy Deployment and future plans.

ITEM #7- Discussion and possible action regarding street closures on Carefree Drive and Sunshine Circle and the alley behind the amphitheater to Hum Road for:

 The Carefree Fine Art of the Southwest Festival Exhibition of Southwestern Fine

Arts and Fine Crafts coupled with Southwestern Music and Entertainment on

Thursday November 22, 2012 (Thanksgiving) for set up from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

including Friday, November 23, 2012 from 9 a.m. to Sunday, November 25,

2012 to 5 p.m.

 The 2nd Annual Carefree Indian Market and Cultural Festival and Exhibition of

Native American Arts and Crafts coupled with Native American Music, Dance

and Educational Entertainment on Thursday, January 24, 2013 for set up from 9

a.m. to 5 p.m. including Friday, January 25, 2013 at 9 a.m. to Sunday, January

27, 2013 at 5 p.m.

 and The Carefree Festival of Fine Chocolate and Fine Art on Wednesday,

February 13, 2013 for set up from Noon to 6 p.m., including Thursday, February

14, 2013, with the show opening at noon, to Sunday February 17, 2013 at 5 p.m.

ITEM #8- Discussion and possible action regarding street closure on Easy Street from Wampum Way to and including the west side of Sundial Circle to include Hum and Ho Hum from Cave Creek Road to Easy Street on March 14 for set up from 5 p.m. on through March 17, 2013 for the Sonoran Arts Festival open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, March 15, Saturday, March 16 and Sunday, March 17.

ITEM #9- Discussion and possible action regarding bid for Town of Carefree Pavement Preventive Maintenance Project #2012-101.

ITEM #10- Discussion and possible action to adopt a process to fill the vacancy on Town Council.

ITEM #11- Adjournment.
