Mayor David Schwan said that five Planning and Zoning (P&Z) Commissioners expressed their wish to continue their service to the community.  The Town advertised a month ago for P&Z volunteers.  Letters of Interest were submitted by Michael Krahe and Dick Tatlow.  Many are familiar with Dr. Krahe, who recently ran for Council, and missed by only two votes in a very close election.

 

 

 

Mayor Schwan recommended that the Council appoint the following citizens to serve on the P&Z Commission through November, 2016.  Tom Cross, Lyn Hitchon, Michael Krahe, Al Mascha, Scott Sperl, Dick Tatlow, and Dan Wainwright.  He asked for questions or comments from the Council.

 

 

 

Councilman John Crane, who served two terms on P&Z until he was appointed to fill Jim Van Allen's vacated seat during the previous term, spoke first.  "I have to say we're very fortunate to have good people continuously standing up and participating."  Councilman Glenn Miller said, "Here, here!"  Councilman Les Peterson spoke next.  "Having briefly served for the past eight months on Planning and Zoning before coming here, I felt very good about the Planning and Zoning Commission, and it was a worthwhile endeavor certainly.  But the people who are on it are first class, and I support all the incumbents totally.  And I know both of the gentlemen who would be the two potential additions, and I support them fully as well."  Councilwoman Melissa Price said, "Agree."  Councilman Miller added, "Totally agree."  The Council unanimously appointed all seven applicants to the P&Z Commission.
