Carefree Truth

On June 14th, Betsy Wise's last day of work as the longtime Carefree Town Clerk/Treasurer, a retirement party was held at the Carefree Resort in her honor.  Her fellow staff members and  the current Town Council members with the exception of Mike Farrar were there to wish Betsy well in her retirement, as well as many former council members and mayors.  Betsy has many dear friends in both Carefree and Cave Creek, and the party was very well attended.

 

 

 

Mayor David Schwan again read from the plaque that was originally presented to Betsy at the last Council meeting (see Carefree Truth issue #257), after which Betsy gave a short speech.  Unfortunately, no microphone was available, her voice is soft, and the room was crowded and a bit noisy, so the audio didn't come out well and is not included.  Kandace French, her replacement, gave a lovely speech which is included. 

 

 

 

The text slide and photo at the end are Herbert's little joke with Betsy, whom he loves dearly.  She made the mistake of making a funny face one time when he had his camera in hand, thinking he wouldn't take the picture.  She is going to kill him for including it.  Ha!  Now, you're all going to watch the YouTube, aren't you? 

 

 

 

We wish Betsy the best in her retirement.  I know she will enjoy her well deserved leisure time.
