The 6th Annual Carefree Christmas Festival was the best one yet.  Those who were unable to attend can get a flavor of it now, and those who were there can relive the fun. Herbert has produced these You Tubes using his photos and videos, each of which is around 2 minutes long.  The YouTubes contain some videos along with the photo slides from the Festival.

This one highlights the activities Friday night in the Sanderson Lincoln Pavilion, including the vendor booths that won 1st, 2nd, and 3rd prize, and the 2 that won honorable mentions for the best decorations.  1st prize was awarded to one of our local non-profit organizations, the Desert Foothills Theater.    Congratulations to DFT.

The Electric Light Parade on Saturday night was a glittering extravaganza.  Manny Gonzales took Herbert and me up on the construction crane, so he shot his photos and videos for these two YouTubes from 25' above the parade, which gave an amazing perspective.  Thanks, Manny!!!!

I love fireworks, and these were the best I've ever seen.  I was standing next to a group from Phoenix who were amazed by the display.  When I told them the fireworks were sponsored by APS, one lady said she had always hated paying her APS bill, but wouldn't mind anymore.  That's how good these were.

Sunday morning was devoted to pets, beginning with the Pet Parade in which I walked one of our rescued dogs, Ozzie, the boy we adopted from the Camp Verde pound this August.  After the parade, Foothills Animal Rescue, The Fetch Foundation, and Racing Home Grayhound Rescue held an adoption event in the Sanderson Lincoln Pavilion.  A variety of musical entertainment was presented in the afternoon.  This YouTube highlights the pet activities.

The full page ad, complete with graphics, run in the Arizona Republic thanking the sponsors is attached.  My job on the Christmas Festival Committee is requesting sponsorship donations from our local merchants.  As you can see, they are wonderfully supportive.  I join Jo in thanking our generous sponsors.

May you all have a happy and healthy 2014!
