Herbert and I visited the Carefree Desert Gardens at night to photograph the Christmas lights and decorations before they were removed.  As always, Glenn Miller did a fabulous job transforming our Gardens into a Christmas wonderland.  The town of Fountain Hills pays a company $70,000 to do their holiday decorations.  Glenn does it better and for free in Carefree.  We can't say this too often.  Thank you, Glenn, and all the other volunteers who make Carefree such a special place.  You are truly treasures.

 

 

 

 

The beautiful angel in front of Carefree Town Hall came from Sue Bickerdyke Interiors and Home Furnishings, http://www.suebickerdyke.com, 480-595-0171, located in the Basha's center in Carefree, and was donated by Melissa Price. 

 

 

 

Enjoy the YouTube video.  If you didn't get a chance to visit the Gardens during the holiday season, this will give you a taste of how lovely it is, and encourage you to visit it next year.  The Garden decorations get better and better each Christmas season, as does the Carefree Christmas Festival.  I hope to see lots of you at both next December.

For those of you interested in photography, the 2014 Carefree Gardens Photo Contest is currently underway.  The entry period is January 2nd through February 4th, so grab your camera, go to the Gardens, take your best shot/s, and enter.  See Carefree Truth Issue #291 for details at www.carefreetruth.com.  2014 calendars with gorgeous photos submitted last year are available for sale at Carefree Town Hall.
