Gary Neiss presented an amendment to the contract with the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office (MCSO) that would allow Carefree to send a written request for changes in personnel if there were an issue, and MCSO could make an adjustment.  It provides the Town with flexibility. 

 

 

 

 

Councilwoman Melissa Price asked if Deputy Gocza is still assigned to our area.  Mr. Neiss said yes.  Mayor David Schwan stated it is a standard provision that was overlooked in the contract but was noticed later.  Councilman Marty Saltzman asked if there is a downside to Carefree.  Mr. Neiss replied that it is all upside.  Vice Mayor Les Peterson asked if MCSO could deny the request.  Mr. Neiss said that's a possibility.  There is no guarantee.  This amendment merely gives the Town that ability to make the request.  The Council unanimously approved the amendment.
