Binka Schwan took the Ice Bucket Challenge.  She contacted her friends and family to raise money during the month of August for "David's Team", part of the ALS Association Walk in downtown Scottsdale on October 24th.  Binka has done a stellar job over the past several months raising donations for this event, and she raised an additional $4,550 by taking the Ice Bucket dousing.  Yesterday, September 6, I dumped a bucket of ice water over her while Herbert filmed it.  The video is 2:41, and is very fun and upbeat, so be sure to click on it.  It's guaranteed to produce a smile, and more likely, outright laughs.

Because Binka's effort met with such success, and the cause is so worthy, I too am taking the Ice Bucket Challenge to benefit "David's Team".  Binka will get to return the "favor" and pour a bucket of ice water over my head in October.  I am asking you to please donate to "David's Team" in honor of our former Carefree Mayor who was diagnosed with ALS last January, and to raise money for research to fight this terrible disease.  I will include the video of my dousing in a future Carefree Truth issue.  Below is the direct link for making donations to Binka's part of the ALS Walk website. http://web.alsa.org/site/TR/Walks/Arizona?px=6972161&pg=personal&fr_id=10960#.VezY7HgXzFI.
