Thank you for writing up the summary for the Caring Corps! You always do a wonderful job.

There are many ways to help Foothills Caring Corps.

(Lyn's note: Responses to the article on VETSBuilt)

Hi Lyn:

After reading your piece on Bob Jenkins and VETSBuilt, I had the pleasure of meeting Bob.  His enthusiasm and focus to help veterans is as strong as you portrayed.  Bob’s dedication to hire veterans in his building contracting business and support of the Marine Corps – Law Enforcement Foundation, www.mclefaz.org, is commendable.  Thank you for passing along his bio and sharing it with our neighbors.

Best regards,

John Crane

(Lyn's note: John Crane is our Carefree Vice Mayor, and an ex Navy man.  He runs the Carefree Veteran's Day event and cares deeply about vets.)

Lyn - Bob is the real thing. He is everything he says he is and is very dedicated to helping veterans. Thank you for sharing his story.

Mike Wold

(Lyn's note: Mike organizes the "Healing of Memories" workshops for veteran's each year at the Spirit in the Desert Retreat in Carefree.  Both John and Mike are retired Navy men, and are totally dedicated to our vets.)

Hi Lyn,

Thanks for sharing.  We will pass this information on to our Veteran Clients.

Hugs,

Pam DiPietro

(Pam is the Executive Director of the Foothills Food Bank.)

What a fantastic story!!!! That should be sent to Republic.

Laurie Palace

(Lyn's note:  Great idea.  I sent Sonja Haller's contact info to Bob.)

This may occur anywhere-thought worth sending to Carefree residents. Evidently coyotes food supply low. Three dogs at Vi either missing or dead. ALWAYS USE LEASES. The sitter went out w/2 dogs, not on leashes. Coyote was hiding. Grabbed 1. Neighbors saved this one, but in critical condition. Never go out without leashes.

Thanks,

Loraine Simons

I may be receiving a job offer in Phoenix this weekend and want to put it 'out there' that I will be needing a dog friendly rental ASAP (as of 2/10) if it happens.

Am on a very tight budget and you all know my dogs.  Basically I'm an over 55 non-smoking professional female.  Rent cannot be over $800.  Would prefer water/sewer/trash included.  Secure nice yard for the boys...at least 600 sq ft.  Would be working in the 44th St/Camelback area.  Would consider something on a horse property...please just keep your eyes open and put the word out.  People may call me at 480.201.9309

(Lyn's note: Barbara Joy is a friend of mine in the animal rescue world.  She is a very responsible and delightful person.  Her 3 dogs, 2 small ones and a Husky, are well trained and well behaved rescued dogs.  She lived here, but moved to Tucson for work.  Now she is hoping to come home.  I asked her if she would be open to something in our area and she responded with the following.

If there is a horse place up there that has a guest situation and I could potentially keep horses...I can commute...I will have total flexibility with the position...and what a fun place to teach yoga and do my Reiki practice and pursue the dog/horse bodywork!

THANKS ALL
