(Lyn's note: Please feel free to send us any pictures you'd like included.  If your photos are for sale, let us know and we will put them under that category.  We have a special section for that purpose.  If anyone would like to buy a print of any of Herbert's photos, all profits will be donated to one of the local non-profit organizations.)  Here's the link to this week's Pictures of the Week.

Lyn, my husband & I are saddened by the closing of My Sweet Blessings as we thought their food was so good!! Hopefully they will be able to find another space in Carefree, as I think any restaurant of good quality just is a plus for Carefree!

Jan Dooley

(Lyn's note: Both the food and the people are wonderful.  During the short time they were open, they acquired a good following of loyal customers, including me.  The sandwiches and the pastries they make are fabulous, and I hear the soups are too.  They want to stay in Carefree, and are looking for a new location.  I'll keep you posted when they reopen.)

Lyn,

Sorry to hear about My Sweet Blessings Bakery. I would be happy to help Joe find a new location.

Thanks,

Mike Farrar

We are going to have our son's wedding rehearsal dinner at Alberto's. I know you advertise for him a lot. He is another very nice person. Jake and I eat dinner there sometimes. Very good food  We're also having our daughter's baby shower there next week He was nice enough to accommodate us  At first, we thought it was closed because on the end of the building, there was a,"For Lease" sign. I'm glad we found it.   Last time we were there, he was busy.  I did see Herbie's video. He does a great job!!!

Hi Lyn,

Thanks for the detailed summary & video of the mtg .

Looks interesting - The ASU speaker was consistent with his remarks about bring to Carefree what Carefree & the community wants. Any clue what we want?

Joe DeVito

(Lyn's note: A short questionnaire was handed out at the meeting, and more research will be done to determine that.)

Hi Lyn,

Sure looks like certain people are trying to railroad the Cultural Center through even though most of the Carefree citizens are against it. Should the Council want to approve any Cultural Center or like attraction, I think it is imperative that the Carefree Citizens approve or deny it through a city wide vote of the citizens as it will either be a burden on or benefit for the citizens long after the current council is gone.

Bob Brenner

(Lyn's note: Both the representatives of the Town and of ASU agree that citizen support is vital if this is to happen.)

Hi Lyn,

Just wanted to let you know that Herbie’s photo contest entry of the saguaros in the fog went rather “viral” for us!  I posted it to our Facebook page as the banner photo a couple of days ago (when it was also foggy and drizzly outside), and it has since been shared 51 times and seen by more than 3800 people!  That’s far more interaction than we normally receive. We’ve also seen a bump in the number of people who “like” our page.

Please pass along our thanks to Herbie for helping us reach a new group of land conservation supporters through his fabulous photo!
