Hi Lyn:
A big thank you is owed to Council Members Glenn Miller and Mike Farrar, who pursued the completion of the new merchant signs on the arterial roads adjacent to the Town Center. As you may recall, new business signage discussions go back to early 2011. The Town had huge amounts of input from both the business and residential communities. An amazing amount of time and energy went in to this endeavor. The final tweaking, after the “final” workshop, was left up to Glenn Miller and Melissa Price to complete, after getting feedback from the sample sign. It was a lot of work.
The new signs are “Sundial” brown, with brown lettering on a beige background, and, in my opinion, look great. One of the best aspects is that they go well with the new street signs as well as the old Sundial Town Center signs. A coordinated effort creates synergy while maintaining the aesthetic appearance that is ‘Carefree’.
To compliment the street signs and the merchant signs, the icing on the cake is the newly installed backlit 'Carefree' signs on the roundabouts. Between the letters, the logo and the lighting, the result is totally first class and absolutely "Carefree". I do not know how anyone could not like them.

Dear Lyn.
Foothills Animal Rescue would like to sincerely thank Herbie for taking the time, on a school night, to photograph our first annual Whiskers and Wine event. The pictures he took were so perfect; they clearly captured the essence of the event and also the special character of all our dogs waiting for their "furever" homes. The event was a roaring success and we have raised over $17,000.00 dollars for our shelter. We certainly could not accomplish these numbers without the generosity of people like you and Herbie. We hope he will also consider photographing our signature event, Pasta for Paws, in January at the Carefree Resort.

(Lyn's note: You know he would be delighted. For the rest of our readers, here's the link for the pics he took at W&W. Enjoy! http://www.carefree-az-businesses-experiencethedifference.com/CAREFREE,_AZ_BUSINESSES:_EXPERIENCE_THE_DIFFERENCE/W%26W_10-11-12.html)
Your town really has it together!
(Lyn's note: This was in response to the CFT issue on the updated GP. It was sent to me by a reader who passes on CFT. She got it from one off those to whom she sends it.)
Thanks, Lyn, I disseminated to our neighborhood who are on email blockwatch here. People need to remember that the more often we call the MCSO the more likely we will keep this substation closeby.

Thanks to you and Herbert for creating the link to Deputy Gocza’s presentation. I shared that with the HOA.
Best regards,

Lyn,
Thanks for the input. I agree we all need to be more careful. This is good advice which we often fail to observe.

I have now typed it out and posted it at each end of the house!

Hi Lyn,
Thanks for the great updates. I really enjoy reading your letters. I was wondering if you could steer me in the right direction. I'm doing some marketing consulting for a new owner of a small business over in Cave Creek, called Yoga Breeze Health and Wellness Center. Christine Thomas is her name and she is new to the area and would love to get to know some business leaders and support the Town of Carefree as much as possible. She is extremely friendly and wants to also have a float in the Christmas Parade. What other things should she participate in? Who should she link up with?
My dad is Joe Intenzo BTW...that is how I originally got hooked up with you :)
Thank you for your insight.
Gina Kaegi
(Lyn's note: I responded in depth directly to Gina, but if anyone else is interested in participating in the Parade of Lights, the float parade in the Carefree Christmas Festival, contact Patty at the CF/CC Chamber of Commerce. Patty is our float organizer.)
