As much as I like Becky Fenger, I am now not even bothering to read the SN any more- straight into the recycle.  I have also started talking to SN advertisers that I frequent and am advocating they stop supporting such trash or I will not continue to patronize them.

THE BIG LIE AND PROTECTION MONEY

The Sonoran News has never let the truth get in the way of their

sordid political agenda and in their October 13th edition they were

true to form.  Don Sorchych comes out against Carefree’s Prop 407 and purposely dances around the fact that it will assure that citizens elect their Mayor by majority vote. It will also save the Town from possible legal battles over a poorly written initiative that is currently on the books and in conflict with State Statutes.

Sorchych also advocates a no vote against the APS Franchise Agreement. Why? What is the major operational, service or financial reason for his recommendation against this important service to our town? It is that APS did not advertise in the Sonoran News! Imagine that! Don’t pay advertising protection money and you don’t get editorial support from Don Sorchych. The Sonoran News…always lower and lower and…

In recent days, I have driven by the Carefree town signs (on Tom Darlington and Pima Road) ..... Outstanding!!  Desert Foothill Landscaping did a wonderful job.  I am sure that visiting tourists (as well as locals) will be taking souvenir photos beside the signs.  Job very well done!

At least Sorchych's truck was air conditioned and he received adequate entertainment while lying in wait for those shady slicksters, the Mayor and Vice Mayor, just so he could report to us happily ignorant readers about how they went slip-sliding around hatching conspiracies.

You know, friends, it's bad enough for a person to be dealing from the bottom of the 'dumpster of life', but is really pathetic to be doing it so publicly.

    The recent articles in the Sonoran News about an alleged "secret meeting" by the Mayor and a few other long time Carefree public servants is just one more example of Don Sorchych's brand of "creative" journalism.  When he has nothing factual to use against his victims, he makes up "information" and uses innuendo in his attacks. 

    I agree with your suggestions in Carefree Truth that Sorchych and his buddies, Bob Coady and clones Stavoe, Koteas, and Traynor, often project onto others their own sordid motives and illegal tactics.  It is fascinating to watch these characters create stories about clandestine meetings and secret agendas. There is a general truism in manipulating public opinion that says if you have nothing real to use against your opponents, dream up a conspiracy theory.  Sorchych and company have used the conspiracy strategy against Carefree leadership for years and years, and apparently there are still citizens who believe this nonsense.  The truth is, the Good Old Boys Sorchych has attacked over and over again are good people who have done a tremendous job in leading Carefree.  Thanks to their volunteer efforts, we have a fiscally sound government with excellent public services.

    Please encourage all voters in Carefree to attend a few town Council meetings so they can witness for themselves who works for the good of Carefree, and which members of Council are there simply to disrupt meetings and to cause unnecessary personal conflicts.
