Lyn:

We all have worthy causes, one of mine is Packages From Home, an Arizona-based 501 c 3 company that ships packages to our troops serving overseas.

PFH will be at the Salute Our Veterans event on November 11, 2012, 3:00 pm at the Carefree Gardens Amphitheater, and will be accepting donations. It costs $13.00 to ship a box (a special rate for troops). Cash, or checks are welcomed. They always have a list of the top ten requested (needed) items, if those planning to attend can bring along.

Single drink mix is always a top item. (Coffee, tea, chocolate, lemonade, fruit-flavors)

Other items we need are canned fruit (15 oz size), canned Chef Boy-ar-dee (15 oz size), canned soup (the regular Campbell soup size), peanut butter (15 oz plastic jar), and jelly (squeezable plastic bottle - you can get it at the various dollar stores). We can also use Rice Krispie treats and snack size trail mix, corn nuts, or sunflower seeds. (no glass).

Not on the list, but currently needed are boxer shorts (S, M, L), easily found at nearby stores, Target and Walmart.

Lyn,

This is from a friend in Estado de Cholla:

They hit our area a couple nights ago. The gig was to win a public speaking scholarship. The young black man was good, but after I heard a couple minutes and got the drift,

I told him we already support charities we know. He said thank you and left. No flat tires on the truck, altho it started running rough this morning.

Best,

Reg Monachino
