(Lyn's note: Please feel free to send us any pictures you'd like included. If your photos are for sale, let us know and we will put them under that category. We have a special section for that purpose. If anyone would like to buy a print of any of Herbert's photos, all profits will be donated to one of the local non-profit organizations. Here is the link to this week's Pictures of the Week. Enjoy!)

The 2016 Carefree Desert Garden calendars are now available at Carefree Town Hall, 8 Sundial Circle, Carefree, and they are gorgeous! If you like to take pictures, visit the Gardens. Our entry period for the Gardens photo contest is January. Your picture could be in the 2017 calendar.

(Lyn's note: This is the direct link for making donations to Binka's page on the David's Team "ALS Walk" fundraiser website. Donations will continue to be accepted through January, 2016. http://web.alsa.org/site/TR/Walks/Arizona?px=6972161&pg=personal&fr_id=10960#.VezY7HgXzFI. Let's show our appreciation of former Mayor David Schwan, and let's help find a cure for ALS!)
Lyn and Herbert,
I can’t believe it was a year ago when we first talked about a pumpkin event in Carefree. Lyn, you embraced the idea of doing something and presented it to the Town. Thank you.
I could hear the excitement in your voice when you told me that it was accepted. In that same conversation you said Herbert was camera ready and selecting music for Halloween 2015.
I’m sending many thanks for all that you and Herbert have done. Especially for capturing the imagination and excitement of the "First Ever Carefree Enchanted Pumpkin Garden" in 2 parts!
Looking forward to sharing with my family when they come for Thanksgiving. You surprised me so much to be listed with Gina, I feel so honored.
We all make a great team.
Always,
LeAnda Merrihew
Showoffs! LOL That is wonderful stuff going on in your town.

Great pictures… doggie looks very noble. Binka and David would bring a tear to anyone… what a lovely photo. A reminder to us all of how precious family and community are.

That's fantastic! Wish we could be there. The event should be fun. The host and his suppliers who are donating to this cause deserve lots of support and recognition for their generosity.
Anita and Bernie
(Anita is David Schwan's sister. She is referring to Alberto's fundraiser wine tasting. Alberto got several of his wine distributors to donate the wine, and Alberto is supplying the food as his donation. 100% of the ticket sales money goes to David's AZ ALS Team. Alberto is wonderful!)
Alberto is a very kind man; how lovely of him!

Lyn:
FYI, I was about to go shopping for items for Packages From Home for Wednesday’s Veterans Day event, but I had deleted your email message. I went online to get a list.
I was both surprised and pleased to see a link for a list of canine supplies needed for the military’s working dogs.
This is a list that your readers may find useful, especially those who are dog owners.
Note: The PFH website also had a list of canine items that would not be acceptable (blankets, soft toys, etc.) which I did not bother to copy and paste, but people considering getting stuff should make sure it’s on the list.
