CHEF KEVIN BINKLEY NAMED JAMES BEARD AWARD FINALIST
On Tuesday, March 18, the James Beard Foundation announced its final list of nominees for the 2014 award season. Among the Best Chef of the Southwest finalists was Arizona's Chef Kevin Binkley. Binkley has been a nominee in this category every year since 2005. He was a consecutive semifinalist in 2012 and 2013, this year is the first year he has been named a finalist.

At this home in North Scottsdale, the contractor chose the MR-16 by Brilliance LED for its color consistency, energy savings and zero maintenance cost. An occasional lens wipe is all that is needed. The warm stone facade is highlighted with four Brilliance LED MR-16's drawing a total of 4 watts each and a 2700K Kelvin temperature. Lumens output is 230lm per lamp with a beam angle of 30º. We want to thank you all for your patience. Saturday Night we had a bit of a melt down and you were all wonderful!
I wanted to formally say thank you for your ongoing support of Venues.
Although we don't always apprectiate it, EVERY position in a restaurant is critical to the operation moving through the evening without a hiccup.
Unfortunately, one of our dishwashers was in a serious auto accident last week and we were unable to get the shift covered on Saturday evening. The vacancy in the position caused some problems with service and I am told many of you were extremely patient and for that we are very appreciative.
Please know that Saturday night was not indicative of what we expect to provide you by way of service. Please feel free to email me at Venuescafe@gmail.com if we spoiled your evening. I hope you will forgive us and try us again. We have worked very hard to be "your go to place" in Carefree and we hope you understand that occasionally things happen.

This Monday we will add a Lamb Burger and a Bison Burger to our Venues Burger Corner...we will still have the 8 oz Angus Burger, the Sloppy Jane, Veggie selection and the Housemade Turkey Burger with Lingonberry Aioli. As always, you receive a complimentary glass of house white or red wine or a domestic beer or a non-alcoholic beverage with your choice of burger and side.
Fondue will be offered Tuesday and Wednesday Evenings this week since Thanksgiving is on Thursday.
Don't forget that we have an Indian Festival this coming weekend. The streets will be open in front of the restaurant so although there will be additional crowds in Carefree, parking is availabile.
