Please feel free to send us any pictures you'd like included. If your photos are for sale, let us know and we will put them under that category. We have a special section for that purpose. If anyone would like to buy a print of any of Herbert's photos, all profits will be donated to one of the local non-profit organizations. Here's the link to this week's Pictures of the Week.

Wishing you a Happy New Year...
2015: Another Year...Another Day
Hi Herbert and Lyn. I hope you both have a wonderful Christmas! Words can't express enough for your support you have given us since we opened. Truly you are the embodiment of the words "there is more happiness in giving than receiving". You truly show the spirit of Christmas and it shows in your smile and humor :). Merry Christmas and New Year!

(Lyn's note: Eunice and George own the Carefree Bistro, one of the best restaurants in the entire Valley, right here in Carefree. If you haven't tried it yet, do. It's fabulous!)

Beautiful fireworks! As long as he doesn't fall off that crane boom all is good. ;)

I echo the same sentiments shared by all, a big thank you and heartfelt appreciation to Jo Gemmill and her team, and all the sponsors for another fantastic Carefree Christmas Festival. It truly has become our town’s signature community event of the year!
Buon Natale!

Council Member, Carefree, AZ
Lyn:
How very disappointing that former Council Member Jim Van Allen would introduce some negativity and criticism about potential future funding of any part of the Transportation Study project. Kudos to Council Member Glenn Miller for calling him out. While I was not at the meeting to hear, first hand, every word, nor did I read the report, I watched your 43 minute video. Nowhere did I hear any mention of any costs. In fact, as I heard it, funding was to be determined. Kudos also to Council Member John Crane for reminding us all about the Carefree residents on the southwest corner of Black Mountain who have to face Carefree Highway traffic. I am sure that you and Dr. Herbie see the traffic back up between Cave Creek Road and 60th Street, especially when school is in session.
Perhaps it is timely that the Towns of Carefree and Cave Creek formally make a pitch to the City of Scottsdale (and MAG) to improve Carefree Highway, from Tom Darlington Drive to Cave Creek Road, with two lanes in each direction, dedicated turn lanes for all intersections, with bike lanes. One does not need to be a traffic engineer to see the huge numbers of Carefree, Cave Creek and Scottsdale residents that use Carefree Highway to access Loop
101 going east, or to the I-17, to the west. The recent improvements to the Cave Creek/Carefree Highway intersection, with left turn lanes and signals has been great, and without having any official counts, I am certain that the number of vehicular accidents has been reduced.
