CAREFREE TRUTH
Letters from Readers: 12/22/10
Lyn,
What I can't fathom about the Coadys (both of 'em) is their indifference to the seamless parliamentary correctness and the eternal patience shown them by the Council and the World of Carefree for that matter. It's obvious from the Council Meeting videos that these people are under stress during their frequent tilts at other Council members so one wonders exactly what is their purpose or gain in all this? Clearly, they aren't interested in Carefree or they wouldn't put it under such constant attack. So, what then? My suggestion to them is to go back to Hell's Kitchen where they might better appreciate the ambiance.
I did want to say also, after watching the point-counterpoint with His Wretchedness, that it would take nuclear winter to take you down. Thank God, and don't EVER stop!

Dear Lyn,
I’M SURE YOU ARE inundated this time of year with requests for financial support for non-profits – and my goal is not to add to that burden!
You know of my devotion to Valley Youth Theatre. The stability and sustenance of VYT and what it provides to the youth of the Valley continues to be foremost in my philanthropic efforts for more than 20 years.
Even with the effects of the recession, VYT produced six fabulous shows, maintained all of their outreach programs and helped many VYT participants pay a portion of their college tuitions through its scholarship program. With the continued support of the community (you!), VYT will continue to provide the amazing experiences they’ve come to count on, the educational opportunities that change young lives, the outreach programs that bring underprivileged youth the opportunity to experience the arts and the youth development VYT provides free of charge to performers and crew – an integral social service need. With VYT, hundreds of young people have a place to develop their character, self esteem, teamwork, a strong work ethic and social skills.
I hope that as this year draws to a close, if you find that you are able you will consider a donation to Valley Youth Theatre of $125 or more. Any amount is helpful. Twenty-five dollars could make a big difference!
YOU have the power to help prepare tomorrow’s leaders for the many challenges they will face by supporting Valley Youth Theatre this year. Please go to www.VYT.com and click on the Donate Now button. You are choosing to make a difference in our community and in the life of a child.
Thanking you in advance for your thoughtful consideration. Please accept my wishes to you and yours for a joyous, healthy and safe holiday season – and a New Year where all of your dreams are fulfilled.
Warm regards,
Hope Ozer

Hi Lyn,
WOW! What great news. Thank you for sharing the good news from the Carefree Fire Department and giving credit to Chief Kraetz and Captain Travis. This is a most wonderful gift to the citizens of Carefree.
Happy Holidays!
