(Lyn's note: Please feel free to send us any pictures you'd like included.  If your photos are for sale, let us know and we will put them under that category.  We have a special section for that purpose.  If anyone would like to buy a print of any of Herbert's photos, all profits will be donated to one of the local non-profit organizations.)  Here's the link to this week's Pictures of the Week.

Is it my imagination, or do you frequently "advertise" Alberto's? I know you've personally told me in previous emails how good their food is. But it seemed to me like I've seen Alberto's pop up in more than a few emails. Just curious why, that's all.

And now due to your advertising,  Deb and I need to check this place out next time we have a hankerin' for Italian food.

Larry Schneider

(Lyn's note: Every Wednesday, we send out ads for any Carefree businesses that want us to do so.  Herbie actually took the pictures of the food and did the videos for Alberto.  You and Deb will love it.)

Lyn,

I wanted to write and THANK the community for their incredible support this season! We have now had a total of 14 SOLD-OUT performances since the beginning of the year.

Audiences and critics alike love DREAMGIRLS!  Sadly, if you do not have tickets already you will not be able to see the show.  The entire run is SOLD OUT!

We are so very proud of this production and honored that the incredible artists in the show came to share their talent with our audiences.  Here is what the critics are saying:

Broadway World.com-- Review by Herb Paine

PHX Stages/Talkin' Broadway -- Review by Gil Benbrook

Again, THANK YOU to our amazing community.  We are selling out shows, our donor base is growing and we are just so humbled and honored by your wonderful support.

Keep an eye out for our 2015-2016 season announcement at the Hearts & Hands Gala.  And…if you get a ticket to the gala you will have the chance to bid on an in-home, private performance by four performers from Soul of Broadway (many of whom star in Dreamgirls) and a catered dinner.  That is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity but you can only bid on it at the Hearts and Hands Gala. Gala tickets are available here: http://www.dftheater.org/#!buy-now/c28i

THANK YOU for keeping us informed!!!!

Thanks for the info!

Crazy! I'm glad someone got wise to the "squatters!"

Cynthia Weiss

I had to run to the post office before it closed, so it was about 3:45 pm.  I was going south on Cave Creek Road and coming north, waiting at the light, was the huge MCSO black SWAT truck, bigger than the one in the news clip.  It looked more like a tank without a gun!

Arthur Gimson

Neat, and glad it was handled successfully.

Larry Holland

Kudos to MCSO and Sheriff Joe.  The cost of this kind of response can easily mushroom into hundreds of thousands of dollars and more, not to mention the potential personal risk to the officers involved.  It is a level of law enforcement and police protection our town could never afford on its own without the contract we have with Sheriff Joe and the excellent and cost effective service his team provides our community, in-spite-of the relentless attacks he has had to endure from Eric Holder and the Obama administration.

Lloyd Meyer

(Lyn's note: And the MCSO guys were unfailingly polite and nice to all the neighbors who were out to see what was happening.)

OMG, girl!  I see you still live an exciting life!

Love, love Herbie's photos!  The 2nd one is fantastic and my fave! (Although, in this possible hostage-type situation, the word 'shots' next to Herbie's name momentarily scared the hell out of me!).

You two take care of yourselves!

Love ya' and miss ya'!

Patti Joy

What a story!

Nothing like a home invasion to enliven our bucolic existence.  Glad no one was hurt.

Kathy Riemer

I agree with you the helicopter is a good shot.  Thank you. Awesome pictures.

(Lyn's note: Not everyone could view the copied and pasted pictures on the body of the Carefree Truth email.  I have sent the download file to those who couldn't see them and wanted to, so if you are one of those let me know and I'll send you the download file.  The one shot of the police helicopter looks like a movie poster for "Apocalypse Now".  It is seriously cool!)

I’ve been listening to Alice Tatum for 30 plus years. Like fine red wine and top shelf scotch She just gets better as the years slowly slip by...

Here’s a little clip of a perfect Sunday afternoon in Carefree.

The file is an .mp4 format so it should open in Microsoft and Apple operating systems (including Apple & Android mobile devices). It’s a 40 second clip and best viewed in full screen mode.

That said, you may do what you wish with this...As for me, it’s just a little personal reminder that when I spend a Sunday afternoon at the Carefree Sundial, I “ain’t misbehavin”” somewhere else and that’s a good thing, right?

Cheers

Phil Corso

(Lyn's note: Phil's clip is attached.  Enjoy!  I sure did.)

Read it! Shook my head a LOT. LOVED the last paragraph though!   :)
