Lyn, I have forwarded your Carefree Truth to many friends and relatives. All are so grateful that they are able to read what happened to Lady. Your devotion to getting the job done on all counts is praise worthy. Words fail me.

Lady is getting along fine. She is eating well and still has her love of the out of doors. She is very tired so I do not do the usual walks we used to take. I make them very short and few. Her spirits are good and she seems comfortable. I think it is going to take a lot of sleeping before she is back to normal. Lady still has a good appetite so that will help her also. What a joy to wake up this morning. As soon as she saw I was awake she moved up to nuzzle. Life is good because of you. I will keep you posted.

My Gratitude Knows No Bounds,

Marcia Dowell

Lyn, Please send this note to your amazing community.

How wonderful of you. I never could have imagined such a community existed, filled with so many people who could take my concerns as theirs and put so much time, effort and heart into reuniting Lady and me. Whether or not Lady returned to me, while I've never been the pessimistic type, my life, my outlook are forever enhanced and enriched  by the thought of such wonderful people as all of you.

Marcia Dowell

Hi! I am Marcia's daughter, in Phoenix. I wanted to say a HUGE thank you to all of you who helped with Lady's rescue. You people are angels! My Mom is just thrilled to have Lady home and that would not have happened without you!  There are not enough thank yous to express my love and appreciation for all of you!

Clair Dowell

Hi, I am one of Marcia Dowell's [lucky] daughters, writing to thank you and your neighbors for your fantastic help.  I was watching from Rhode Island, unable to do more than search online.  Her initial despair changed to guarded hope when the first person from your neighborhood called her to report a sighting, which I believe made it possible for her to continue trying.  Every person's help reinforced her hope and determination, as well as ensuring the happy ending.  I can't stop telling the story out here.  Thank-you.

All my best,

Jennifer Dowell

Thank you Lyn- for all you do!

Stephanie

(Lyn's note: Thank YOU, Stephanie, for making the effort to photograph and email the poster on your front gate in Provence that allowed us to identify both Lady and Marcia.)

Great news!

Marie Peck

(Lyn's note: We couldn't have done it without you, girl!  Fetch's big cage that Mike set up gave Lady the courage to go into the small one that caught her.)

Aw!  Yay!!!!  Good job!!!!

Marcia should invest in a Thunder Shirt, worth their weight in gold especially with small fearful dogs.  Not much $, and the people at Petsmart will teach her how to use it.

Read up!

XOXO

Jakki Brooks

(Lyn's note: Jakki was one of the 4 founders of FAR, and was out helping us look that first morning with her miniature Aussie in tow.  Those of you who have dogs with fear issues may want to look into Thunder Shirts.  I too have heard good things about them.)

Lyn you rock!  And Marcia you must be thrilled....what a wonderful ending to a nail-biting weekend....do you have book or movie rights to this saga?!!  So happy it all turned out well...so are all the gals at the Tea Room!  Welcome home Lucky Lady!  I hope we have started a pattern so that if anyone else loses their dog around here, they know people will respond.

Jo xx

Jo Gemmill

(Lyn's note: Jo almost caught Lady with the lure of her "smelly" dog food.)

Hi Lyn.

Just wanted to let you know how heart warming it was to read your recount of Lady's story.

As we chased two large coyotes from the back of our property this morning, we were so glad that Lady was now reunited with Marcia.

We appreciate all your efforts too.

Kind regards,

Beth Malone

(Lyn's note: Beth is the one who herded her through the desert to where Marcia and I were waiting that first morning.  Marcia would have had her then, but for the scary trash truck turning in just as she was almost to Lady.  Lady was constantly seen on Archie and Beth's property, and I'm willing to bet the coyotes were looking for her.)

We were so relieved to get your message and were gone all afternoon so couldn't check the traps! It is so refreshing and wonderful that our neighborhood really comes together when something like this happens. This was truly a very happy ending and now we can all sleep well!

Jan & Mike Ferrell

(Lyn's note: Jan and Mike live next door to the Stolpers, and were some of the many who were actively involved in the search.)

What a homecoming  story.  Sooooo happy for this outcome!!!!!!!!!!!!  That little girl is a tough one.  Hopefully the rest of her life will be less eventful.  So many people rooting for her.  When we can come together as a force like this, there is hope for the human race!

Cheers,

Jeanne Cassanova

(Lyn's note: Jeanne and Don are the friends who were staying with us that night I first spotted Lady.  They came down with Lil to see if she would come to another little dog.  They returned to California the next morning, but I sent this Carefree Truth to them, since they had been involved at the onset.)

What an amazing saga.  And what a wonderful bunch of animal guardians.  Congrats to all.

Kathy Riemer

Thank you for all your wonderful updates. I am so glad she is safe.

I'm so happy this journey ended the way it did. She's a lucky Lady indeed.

Jackie Cetrone

That's awesome that you found Lady! Really miraculous timing, too! Oh, she is pretty small! It's a miracle she lasted so long!

Nicole Neri

Fortunately, the story had a happy ending.

Best regards,

John Crane

I can sleep tonight because of Lady's angels.  Also my prayers to St Francis, patron of animals.  I am so relieved and grateful.

Thanks, Lyn.

Love,

Patty Schiano

Happy to hear it. All's well that ends well, as they say. :-)

What a wonderful ending. Thanks you for keeping us all up to date.  Louise Short

Great story….animals bring out the best in people.

Jerry Freeman

So happy for the good news!  Thank goodness she was hungry to enter the crate.  Lady is one fortunate dog to get back home safely after so many days out on her own with no protection from other animals who could harm her.

Maryann Savino

YEEEESSSS!!! I really wondered if that little girl would make it.

Joe Arkeat

What a beautiful and happy story….remembering the quote” Until one has loved an animal part of their soul remains unawakened.” Thank you to all the awakened souls in Cave Creek and Carefree…..and to Lady who is safe at home!  Christine Del Deo

Lyn,

Unbelievable!  What a saga.  We have been following your emails from Coronado, Ca. You are wonderful.  Lady is one lucky dog .  Glad to hear a happy ending.

Lois Stern

Hi Lyn,

It has been a great saga and shows how great our community is.  Thanks,

Marji Monte Carlo

Betsy Wise

Yay!!!!!!

Janeen Dutcher

So sweet! What a wonderful ending. You are so helpful.

Sandy Neri

YAY!!!!!  It sure brought me to tears!!! We're so glad it was a happy ending and she was back in her loving home.  Bless her little heart for staying safe all this time.  She was in all our thoughts.  The idea that my Mojo could be in danger gives me a big scare.   However knowing him he'd run to the first person and expect hugs and treats.   XOXO

Mary Kibbie

Lyn, this is such wonderful news.  I always like a happy ending.

Ellen Van Riper

Nice job and a happy ending!!

Nancy Murbach

Well done my friend!

Ellie Millianti

WOW - this wouldn't haven't happened without you!

Pat Patterson

(Lyn's note: It also wouldn't have happened without all the community dedication shown.  This is how the world should work, and often does, despite what we hear on the news.)

Wonderful!!! All is well that ends well!!!

Judie Preston

(Lyn's note: Judie was one of the ones out looking for her with her little dog in tow, that first morning.)

Glad to hear that Lady is home, safe and sound.

LARRY SCHNEIDER

This is why I adore you.  HUGS.

Loraine E. Simons

I followed it closer than any news items.  You all did an awesome job catching him and returning him to his owners before the coyotes got there.  You'll be truly blessed some day!  Ha, you already are blessed!

Vinnie F.

What a great adventure!  And what a lucky little dog!!!  Please add my email to your rescue list, Lyn, so we can spread the word with Creekers the next time.  Kudos to you all who helped!
