Letters from Readers: 3/9/11
Lyn, a million thanks for the great plug for the Posse Donation drive this week. The team needs a lot of that type of help to continue to give back to Carefree the type of support and visibility we have come to expect from them.
I am sure you will receive the thanks directly from Posse Management.

Lyn,
As an out of town owner of a condo at Carefree Terrace Condominiums, I felt obligated to weigh in on Mark Wdowiak of Desert Foothills Landscaping.
For several years I was secretary of the association. During my tenure, Mark's firm was contracted to us for our landscaping upkeep. We were more than satisfied with the work and cooperation his company supplied. I personally talked to Mark several times (another Midwesterner) and felt very comfortable with his ethics, workers, and plan of action for taking care of CTC.
I think Carefree is very fortunate to have the caliber of landscape company under the supervision of Mark Wdowiak that will be a part of the Town of Carefree's landscaping. Good luck!

Lyn,
Let's see what 'The Man Who Would Be Mayor' and his 'Blue Meanies' do to criticize this beautification of Carefree.

You go girl!
Yea, Mayor David....know I don't have a vote but doing my best to pass along your information :-)

Lyn,
A damn fine piece of reporting this is. It goes to show that the farmer doesn't need to go far to find out why his chicken coup's half empty the day the circus geek comes to town, and he certainly doesn't hire the geek to guard the coop. Vote Schwan!

Carefree
We are "down to the wire" as to the 2011 Primary Election in Carefree. And a great experience it has been for this "Freshman" politician. While I had spent over seven years patrolling the streets of Carefree and talking to both our Citizens and Tourists, it has been an all together experience to stand at the Post Office for 4 or 5 hours a day. But, one thing I take away from doing that is .."our Folks love Carefree, and they want to maintain our special Peaceful place". This is true, not only for the full time residents, but also the 'winter residents'.
We are about to elect, for the first time ever, a "peoples' Mayor", not a "Councils' Mayor". The folks I have talked to mostly ( I judge at 80%) really like that. And, even thou the Mayoral Campaign has been a little "Testy", at times...the Folks seem ready to support the winner.
The Council race has been really quite low key. Most of the Candidates are dedicated to the same goal.."of a respectful, civil and open group of volunteers who are totally focused on the job of delivering the very best decisions for the majority." They recognized that with only one incumbent in the running, and one "sophomore" (Marty Saltzman)..the rest of us will be the "freshman".."freshwomen" crowd...as yet quite unproven. But ready for the challenge.
For my part, I can't find the words to express my appreciation for all of the support I have gotten, from every corner and group in this great Town. Sometime on Thursday, or so, we will know if it worked.
Respectfully,
JIM Van Allen
