(Lyn's note: Please feel free to send us any pictures you'd like included.  If your photos are for sale, let us know and we will put them under that category.  We have a special section for that purpose.  If anyone would like to buy a print of any of Herbert's photos, all profits will be donated to one of the local non-profit organizations.)  Here's the link to this week's Pictures of the Week.

Wow,

That was an outstanding Welcoming Address by Mayor Les.

Glad we live here.

Joe DeVito

Lyn,

Your continued use of the title “Acting Mayor” for Les Peterson I am pretty sure is not correct. He is Mayor into 2016 and there is now another “Vice Mayor”.

Dick Tatlow

(Lyn's note: You are correct.  He is the Mayor now.  But as of the Council meeting on 3/3, where Bill Sims gave his opinion and it was accepted by a 3-2 Council vote, he was still the Acting Mayor.  He was officially sworn in as the Mayor the following morning.  The sewer issue was addressed at the 3/3 meeting, and at that time, his title was still Acting Mayor.)

We saw your video for Alberto's pizza, so decided to try it.  It was fabulous!  We hadn't even thought about Alberto's for something like pizza.  He has a traditional wood burning oven, and it makes an amazing pizza.

Donna and Pete

(Lyn's note: The pizza video is one that Herbert recently published and it got put with Alberto's ad last Wednesday.  Here it is for anyone who wants to see it.  His pizza is great!  Herbert's favorite is the seafood pizza.  The pizzas are not the traditional types.  He's got some exotic ones.

It probably won’t happen overnight.  Staff is very much in control down there.  I’ll get a notice when your hearing is scheduled.  We can hear the whole proceeding live now.

Sara Vannucci

(Lyn's note: Sara is referring to the rate case hearing for the sewer charges to Carefree restaurants.)

Dear Lyn,

It was so great to finally meet you!!  I am excited about getting to know you better. Thanks so much for putting together the wonderful photo contest, presentation and awards.  We are all indeed blessed to live in such an incredible and photogenic environment.  We have an obligation to share the beauty with those around us, and thanks to this venue, we now have a way to do just that!!  Thank you too for the wonderful prizes you collected.  My husband Jack and I are looking forward to trying out the sweet spot that is Guido Garcia’s!!  I know we will enjoy it.

I am also still looking forward to having lunch with you.  Today I hope to wrap up a few final items on the “remodel to-do list” and hope to have some free time over the next few weeks.

Sadly, our little dog CurlyCanyonDog who you met last Saturday is ill. She’s had some spinal disc problems in the past and on Sunday night she suffered a little fall, and has been out of commission since.   She’s gotten a steroid injection along with some heavy narcotic drugs and so we may have to consider surgery as an option and are praying the meds kick in, reduce the swelling and that we get her back on track. Keep us in your prayers.

Thanks again, sooo much for all the work you do for Carefree!!

Hugs,

Karen Keilt

Do you know where the new bike trails will be in Cave Creek?

John Long

(Lyn's note: Along the section of Cave Creek Road they own, in between Carefree's two sections.  Unfortunately no one is doing bike lanes on Scottsdale Road to complete the loop.  Scottsdale owns that, and they are not participating in the project.)

Just found it.  Very cool.  And thanks, as always, for trying to keep us less clueless.

John

Lyn,

May I redistribute this to concerned citizens?

Reg Monachino

(Lyn's note: Everyone may always feel free to distribute/forward Carefree Truth, and many do.  Our purpose it to share information.)
