(Lyn's note: Please feel free to send us any pictures you'd like included.  If your photos are for sale, let us know and we will put them under that category.  We have a special section for that purpose.  If anyone would like to buy a print of any of Herbert's photos, all profits will be donated to one of the local non-profit organizations.   Here is the link to this week's Pictures of the Week. Enjoy!)

Thank you Herbie and Lyn.  The video is absolutely wonderful and I will cherish it forever.  Love you both.

Thank you again for all you and Herbie did.  I just watched the video--probably not a good idea during my work day.

(Below are 2 opinion pieces representing opposing view points.)

First let me give my condolences to Binka Schwan on the death of her husband David. Down here in Phoenix/Scottsdale we heard a lot of good things about David when he was Mayor of Carefree. Watching small town politics is better than watching TV. David Schwan had his hands full with all of the contentious statements from people with private agendas. I’m so happy these meetings were filmed by Herbert Hitchon. When the next election occurs, please re-play the parts that show the true characters of those that want to “help” Carefree.

The day after David’s funeral I received via email the Carefree Times. Since I have been a paid political staff member from Presidential campaigns to local council, Senate and Congressional campaigns, I took notice of Melissa Price’s ostentatious display of self-adulation with her new political column called Carefree Times. Count the amount of times she used the word I, 17 times. I’m surprised she didn’t run out of air tooting her own horn. Melissa probably couldn’t make David Schwan’s service because she was proof reading her opening statement that she’s running for mayor. Oh, she’s thrown her hat into the ring, big time.

However when you insult a former Mayor and his family the day after the funeral this says volumes on your character. No flowers, no phone call, no card.

Come on Melissa, give us a new picture like you said you would; keep the Dorian Gray one at home.

Please publish the below in your Letters from Readers.

Lyn, you're Newsletter is called “Carefree Truth” so may I suggest you get the “truth” before you print false, inappropriate, and or upsetting information.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but it sure sounds like you verbally talked to all the people your mentioned in your…”Lyn’s note” with the exception of Melissa, WHY? And since you chose to gossip rather than ask or call Melissa yourself. The fact is, Melissa has been attending a bible class every Saturday for the last eight weeks. She committed to this class and a mass at Our Lady of Joy church the morning of David's memorial.  I know she was sorry to have to miss his service.  Lyn, “Your Notes” are starting to sound like a local newspaper these days and the editor's focused desires to coronate.

And your “Lyn’s note(s)”  I'm sorry Lyn but if anyone made Binka cry it is YOU! You are wrong to have printed your “Lyn’s note(s)”. and this was disrespectful to David’s memory and Binka. And, if you felt the need to add your notes, you should of shared certain email reply(s) one received (notice how I did not name names?!) instead of “untruth notes”. Why?… because people come FIRST and NOT personally campaigning Lyn.

Respectfully,

Michelle Miller

15 Yr. Carefree Resident

(Lyn's note: Michelle Miller is the wife of Councilman Glenn Miller.)
