Election reminder:   Please take the time to fill in your ballot and return it.  Jim Van Allen has put in a lot of hours meeting and talking to our citizens, and has done extensive reading and research in order to fully understand the Town's history and the issues it faces today.  He will be an asset, so let's show him the support and enthusiasm he deserves!

(Lyn's note: Below are responses to Blaine Keith's letter to his grandchildren about his life.  I received many more verbal responses.  Blaine, you are a dear and amazing man.  Love ya!)

Awesome! What a great legacy.  That was wonderful!! The timing was perfect. Yesterday was my dad's b-day. Had he lived he would have been 89. WW2 combat photog at Normandy, as well as in the advance team that went to Buchenwald. He took that photo of the men in their striped "jammies" looking out through the barbed wire fencing there.

Scared my sis and me as kids. His mom was a film editor at Columbia Studios & he would send her negatives of the stuff he shot. She had them developed and put everything is a book for him. We donated the book and his films to the Simon Wisenthal museum when he died.

What an amazing life. Thanks for sharing.

Lyn--you should get him to tell stories of his days in the space program--most interesting--

HUGH STEVENS

(So, Blaine, how about it?  Care to do some more writing, as Hugh suggests?

Lyn)

Don't ask.....I was a puddle reading this.  Fabulous!  Made me think of my Dad and his long military career.  *snif*

Jakki Brooks

That's Powerful.  Read the whole story of his Life.  That's a LIFE. Thanks.

Joe Devito

I read the letter from Blaine--he was something else--you have good selection for military friends--Blaine and Papa Ron both Marines!!! Keep up the good selection.

(Lyn's note:  I sent Blaine's letter to many of my friends around the country and around the world.  Ron Crouse owns the company we bought steel from before my parents sold our tool steel warehouse business and retired.  He and I are still good friends.  Email is wonderful.  As a ex-Marine, I knew he would love this, and he did.)

(Lyn's note:  The next batch are responses from the Carefree Truth that addressed small pets and the local wildlife.)

Thanks, Lyn.

I'm protecting Beau but I must be forever vigilant. It only takes moments to hop my wall, so thanks for the reminder.

Love you,

Patty Schiano

Bravo!  Well said - AND needed to be said (again, again and AGAIN).

Last week I let Pepe out to go potty and as I was sitting in my chair I saw Pepe run and bark to the other side of my back yard.  I ran to where Pepe was running and I saw Pepe and this animal running in circles so fast that I couldn't tell if the animal was a bobcat or coyote.  As I screamed Pepe's name, Pepe ran to the patio and the coyote jumped over my wall. Pepe and I got lucky.  The coyote was a beautiful one.  Pepe or the coyote didn't like my screaming and I was screaming like there was no tomorrow.

This a.m. around 6 a.m. as Pepe and I were walking back home, up Restin I saw 2 dark colored animals....they had to be coyotes.  They looked like German Shephards.
