(Lyn's note: Please feel free to send us any pictures you'd like included.  If your photos are for sale, let us know and we will put them under that category.  We have a special section for that purpose.  Check out Tom Baker's photos for sale.  He's the photographer who took that gorgeous photo in the Carefree Gardens Photo Contest that was both the judges' first pick and the public favorite.  It's now featured on the Town of Carefree website, and will be the cover of the 2014 Gardens calendar that will be for sale later this summer at Carefree Town Hall.  If anyone would like to buy a print of any of Herbert's photos, all profits will be donated to one of the local non-profit organizations.)  Here's the link to this week's Pictures of the Week.

Where is the Caring Corps office located?

Jakki Brooks

(Lyn's note: It's in the same strip mall along Easy Street where Giordano's Trattoria Romana is located.  The strip mall backs out onto Tom Darlington and is next to the Bank of America.)

Thank you for your GREAT coverage of the town meetings.  Maybe I misunderstood, but I got the impression that Mr. Gimson was in favor of some of the potential capitol improvements, but his least favorite would be the "splash pad" ????

June Reilly

(Lyn's note: Mr. Gimson is in favor of all the capital improvements suggested, but lists the amphitheater as his priority.  You know, being follicly challenged, like Herbert...  At the budget workshop, Herbert stood up and spoke in favor of the additional shade, citing that the medical literature warns about UV overexposure even for children, then pointed to his bald head.  Burn now, pay later.)

Lyn:

Katya is our new arrival, a 10-month old Siberian Husky.

I cannot say enough about the Foothills Animal Rescue.  In December 2012, I had asked Holly Bergman if she could find a female Siberian Husky, less than 1-year old, with two blue eyes.  In early May 2013, I received an e-mail message from Holly, simply stating ”take a look at…”.  I did, and I liked what I saw.

I was then contacted by Eddie (FAR Office coordinator) to meet the puppy with Gayle, FAR shelter manager.  It did not take more than one look for me to say, “Yes”.  The following Tuesday, FAR had arranged for micro-chipping and spaying.  On Mothers’ Day, Patti and I picked her from the shelter and brought her to her new home.

(Lyn's note: See Arthur Gimson's photo of Katya submitted for this week's Pictures of the Week.  She's a beauty!  Congrats to the new "parents"!)
