Lyn, I have a question about your latest videos. Does Mr. Van Allen sleep on the dais under that ridiculous sport cap, or is he just marching to the agenda of the BOBS? He seems to want to block all the good this council has done and is trying to achieve for the town of Carefree.

I love Carefree, CC & Mayor Schwan but with $250K for a review of city planning I expect a public report and period of comment! Sadly, I am sure that rather than save the taxpayer money if we don't use it some other city will.

Carefree always provides for public comment on projects like this. We simply need a few weeks to work with Cave Creek and MAG to develop a project timeline, etc. As soon as we have a schedule we will use COINS to inform everyone about public meetings and opportunities for public comments.

I would like to note that the Carefree Council spent considerable time last Fall looking at many of the projects that this study will investigate. I think Carefree and Cave Creek are fortunate to have MAG fund this high level look at our arterial roadways. This study is a necessary first step and will give us a “50,000 foot” view of potential improvements to the arterial roadways in both Towns. It is important to me that improvements in the two Towns are consistent (e.g. I’d hate to see bike lanes or walking paths dead end at Town Boundaries.)

Mayor Schwan- first off- many thanks for the reply. You and the council have my 110% backing- I love Carefree & think you all are doing a wonderful job at fiscal & town management.
My comment was based on a lack of knowledge as to what the project entails- at first blush it sounds like a city planning issue for which we already pay people. Perhaps a brief explanation of the what & why would be helpful. I hate to see good money spent on projects like the 'mating habits of the arc squirrel in rainy weather' or 'why adults cats eat more than kittens'.
