(Lyn's note: Please feel free to send us any pictures you'd like included.  If your photos are for sale, let us know and we will put them under that category.  We have a special section for that purpose.  Check out Tom Baker's photos for sale.  He's the photographer who took that gorgeous photo in the Carefree Gardens Photo Contest that was both the judges' first pick and the public favorite.  It's now featured on the Town of Carefree website, and will be the cover of the 2014 Gardens calendar that will be for sale later this summer at Carefree Town Hall.  If anyone would like to buy a print of any of Herbert's photos, all profits will be donated to one of the local non-profit organizations.)  Here's the link to this week's Pictures of the Week.

How harmonious you all are.  Creekers like it a little more rough and tumble.  You probably should not share that.

Charlene Capek

(Lyn's note: I've been on P&Z, so it was a reappointment for me.  But that is funny, Charlene!)

A Royal Baby Shower

Friday June 21

You Are Invited

to A Royal  Baby Shower

Friday, June 21

 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.

(it's also Royal Ascot weekend so wear a hat!)

Afternoon Tea fit for a Princess, or Prince!

$30 per person.

Includes Afternoon Tea

and special, extra surprises for those in attendance.

Limited Seating. Make Your Reservations Today.

Sign a baby advice book for Princess Kate!

Bring diapers and baby gifts for local women's shelters!

Kate's baby is due in July, which means we are planning a huge baby shower for her and you are all invited! We are predicting a girl with the names Alexandra and Diana somewhere in the long list of names that she will be given.

As well as celebrating with Afternoon Tea, we are encouraging all our guests to bring a bag of diapers to the party, (or anything else fit for a newborn). Feel free to bring diapers and gifts for baby boys AND girls. Rumor has it she is expecting twins!

A baby shower gift will ensure you can write in our special 'baby advice' book that will be mailed to the Palace as soon as the party is over.  Then, all the accumulated diapers and gifts will be re-gifted to the women's shelters in the Phoenix area.  We also hope to build the largest collection of "diaper cakes" ever seen with all the donated diapers!

So, next time you are in the grocery store, grab a bag of baby goodies and come to the Tea Room to celebrate the impending arrival of our newest heir to the throne.

And if you can't make the party, just drop off your diapers or gifts and sign the book of well wishes anyway. We want Kate to know just how many people are thinking about her and wishing her good luck from Arizona.

Scenic Drive Happenings

In 1963, the residents of Cave Creek and Carefree and the Cave Creek Improvement Association, established the Desert Foothills Scenic Drive to preserve and showcase roadside vegetation along Scottsdale and Cave Creek Roads. In late May 2013, Scottsdale's mayor, Jim Lane, proclaimed May as Scenic Drive Month and announced that a $7.5 million enhancement program, including undergrounding utility lines and poles, is underway. Watch Scottsdale's video coverage on CityCable 11 as speakers share the history of the Scenic Drive and what its future holds. For additional information, including a video, visit www.scenicdrive.org. Friends of the Scenic Drive, a division of the Greater Pinnacle Peak Association, maintains and advocates for the drive.

They are going to begin burying the remaining utilities next month. Other enhancements include strengthening the roadside vegetation and beautifying the Scottsdale Road intersections at Dynamite and Dixeletta.

We are trying to get Scottsdale to officially designate the drive as "historic" to further protect it in the future
