Ha! John ... that "Carefree Today" header for the Town's e-newsletter was set up in 2012 when I was VM, and used to send the Town communications. I actually thought it flattering that you chose to somewhat copy my tag line for the Town... \uD83D\uDE09

(Lyn's note: In one of his latest newsletters, Mr. Traynor claimed Councilwoman Melissa Price "borrowed very heavily from our tagline, the one you see on our website as well as on every issue of these CFM Newsletters? Very disconcerting indeed!
Ours: Carefree, what life should be!")
As the months go by, Carefree's Future Matters becomes
more and more an opinion newsletter instead of presenting facts with both sides' comments allowing readers to make up their own minds, including a plug to read the July 8, 2015 issue of the Sonoran News!
The "Late breaking news" contains an obvious error, when they state, "40 Proposed homes would be situated on ¼ acre or less." I guess that Carefree is in for a pretty tall high-rise!
The finale is an attempt to claim ownership of slogans comparing "ours" with "theirs". The slogan, "Life as it should be" was first used when I was a Council Member and liaison for the Marketing efforts. It was created by Owens Harkey. My term ended over two years ago. Carefree's Future Matters didn't surface until last year.

Per Town Center Gateway Signs-I applaud the good work-

Boy - I'm not crazy about the design. Too me , just ok. If the Gateway is going to be a Entrance Statement for the Town, then I would also include a water feature trickling down the face of both columns which also identify with our present waterfall.
I would also add a sound system in the two top squares so that theme music can be played when various Festivals take place and add some attachment to the wrought iron arch so that Festival banners can be attached. I would not rush into the manufacture of these future Entrance statements without Really making sure that they're capable of doing multi-functions.

Kudos to all who worked on the gateway signs and pats on the back to all seven who voted 'Yes". The primary gateway sign is great.

Hi Lyn.
Great reporting on the new Gateway approved by the Council...and Kudo’s to the Council and the Staff for a timeless design that will last generations.
ps. BTW, did I tell you that we already have a Gateway in my neighborhood? Yep...it’s up on a hillside along Nonchalant and around the bend from Lazy Lane. One of my sorta natural neighbors... who I assure you has been around Carefree for a while... just stands around all day waving at passerby’s and welcoming them to Carefree. Legend is that the hawks and owls say that if you stand alongside at sunset, you can see forever. But that might be a Legendary Tall Tale. You might want to find out for yourself one day... J

Stated straight up, Lyn.
