Ron Clarke, thank you for your service.

Lyn: great public service announcement. Thanks for what you do. Do you intend to send out a reminder about the upcoming Visioning meet scheduled for 7/19? The "power of the pen" worked. We had a good turnout last month. 18 citizens showed up and many of them participated. Glad I represent CAREFREE. Thanks.

(Lyn's note: Jim is referring to the R/M public service announcement I shared. The Council is holding the next Visioning workshop at 4:00 on Tuesday the 19th, at 4 PM in the Council Chambers. The Planning and Zoning Commission is meeting to work on updating the General Plan, which designates land use, on Monday the 18th at 5 PM in the Council Chambers. Both these series of meetings will steer the direction our Town will be taking over the next 10 years. Citizen participation is very desired by both public bodies.

Hi Lyn! Looks like we have a good and fair Council. Vice Mayor seems very sharp and eager to do best for Carefree. You continue to do a great job. KGDS.

Town Councilman really Embarrassed !!!!!!

This newly elected Town of Carefree Councilman got a real eye opener yesterday. When my wife returned from shopping, she had 6 pots of new flowers for her patio planters. I said..."They look great, where did you get them.?"... To my great surprise she said.."At Home Depot".

I then asked why she had not gone to Lowe's instead. I reminded her that the Lowe's store is a Carefree merchant. She said.." I didn't know that..I thought they were in Cave Creek." I then explained, with a little help from a map, how both the CVS and Lowe's were part of our Town and the need for us to shop in Carefree as much as we can. Then she got real defensive...as wives then to do...and reminded me she does all of her grocery shopping at Basha's, gets ALL of our take out dinners at Carefree restaurants..etc. etc. Bottom line is each of use need to communicate, often, about how vital it is for us to "Shop Carefree". No, I did not make her take the flowers back...it would have meant no dinner. Our household will do its' part in the future...hope everyone else does too. Thanks.
