Hi Mike,

If it's any conciliation, I thought my comments were abbreviated too and would have hoped other points were brought out also; but I know editing is NOT an easy job and thought the gist of our comments were shown - with a summary by the Mayor as Lyn said. I think you and Arthur said somewhat the same things. I suspect Lyn was trying to reinforce to the public that this Council can respectfully disagree with each other and still get along. (When talking with the applicants they all expressed the sentiment to me they wanted to jump on board and ride this new wave of harmony and cooperation in reviving the Town.) Marty's comment about this being the most contentious we've ever been and we all liked all the candidates was great. I think we are all trying to do our best.

Melissa

(Lyn's note: Vice Mayor Price was responding to Councilman Farrar's letter saying that he was disappointed in our abbreviation of his comments re the candidates for Council. We do strive to portray the gist of the comments, while still keeping it short enough that people will read the text and view the YouTubes.)

Good Morning, Lyn. This could not have come at a better time. I could use your help in determining the best way to approach the issue of how to control noise-not a new problem but one that needs to be taken seriously.

The impetus this time- As a board member at Villa del Sol I received a phone call yesterday morning advising that the crews working on Tom Darlington created an inordinate amount of noise at 4:30 AM Saturday morning and 3:30 AM Sunday morning-making it difficult for our residents who work on the weekends. I can appreciate that the road work needs to get done; but folks need their rest—we need to find a balance. As to procedure-would it be better to schedule this as an agenda item for the Oct 13th meeting , just show up, or meet with Town Council outside of this session?

You have a great working knowledge of Town governance-I appreciate your perspective. Thanks.

Marilyn Maloney

(Lyn's note: I called Gary Neiss for his input. In the case of last weekend's morning noise, the workers were laying MTR Plus coating, which shouldn't be driven on for at least 6 hours. Sunlight has to hit it to cure the material, so it needs to be applied very early. The streets project should be finished by the end of October. The Town is sorry for any inconvenience this causes to our residents, and they appreciate our patience and understanding.)

Looks like you are doing a good job of keeping everything "cool" in Carefree. I really appreciate your newsletter.

Thanks, Lyn. It’s nice to have the major art festivals well in advance so they can be planned around.
