Lyn, I had not been aware of your "experience the difference" website. It is great!! And is a great addition to the business vitality of Carefree.

Probably just what you need is another non-participant providing unsolicited and potentially irrelevant advice. But that has never slowed me before.

There are dozens (probably hundreds) of professional service providers living in Carefree. These are the folks who do not have a "storefront" but, like me, have serious office in our home and work remotely and/or travel to their client sites.

When I saw the professional services listing I was immediately interested . . . and a bit bemused by the listings. I suspect there are a number of engineers, business analysts, marketing professionals, graphic artists, web designers and other folks around. Are those of interest or is the target the businesses which directly generate sales tax revenues for the town?

(Lyn's note: Any business located in Carefree is welcome on our free advertising site. If any home based Carefree business wants to participate, let me know and we'll make it happen.)

It's a terrific website; another of the "thousand points of light"... and we ALL need a lot more of those.

This is all great news. The center of town will be even more pleasant and welcoming to residents and perhaps even visitors around the area will want to spend some time in Carefree. There is a spirit of cooperation and respect in the local government that allows the town leaders to focus on positive change. This is such a welcome change from the adversarial relations in the past.

Lyn,

A little announcement:

Desert Foothills Theater was the winner of FIVE ariZoni Awards in the ariZoni ceremony last night. Congratulations to the following:

Toby Payne, Sound Design for A DAN-DEE Musical Revue

Wes Sullivan (DFT’s Managing producer), Lighting design for A DAN-DEE Musical Revue

Dan Kurek, Music Direction, for A DAN-DEE Musical Revue

T.A. Burrows, Best Actor, for A DAN-DEE Musical Revue

And Lori Vander Maten, props for The Dixie Swim Club.

While we did not take home any ariZoni Awards in the youth category, our young actors were asked to perform and had the opportunity to showcase their great work to the theater community at the Tempe Center for the Arts. They rocked the place and received much Kudos for their great work (and Robin’s fabulous costumes were cheered far and wide).

Thank you to all our friends in Carefree/Cave Creek who support DFT. We so value your support. Our youth program is growing by leaps and bounds. If you are interested in supporting youth programs we are always in need of scholarship funds so young performers are able to participate in our productions and classes.

Our adult theater is looking for underwriters for a brand new Arizona Centennial work this year and some other great productions. Would you like to see your name in lights? Contact Meribeth at meribeth@desertfoothillstheater.com to inquire about production underwriting.
