These kids look forward to these activities each week which in turn keeps their minds off of their treatments and such.  A lot of their activities are private, that way kids with compromised immune systems can still attend with out worries of picking up a "bug"!  They do AMAZING things for A LOT of families in AZ!! Joey Davis was born in Prescott and spent his last four years at Cactus Shadows High School. The young man was chosen for the Carefree Cave Creek Chamber of Commerce Scholarship award for many reasons, his credentials will follow.

"Winning this award means a great deal to me. It has given me a great opportunity to further my education, better myself and my community," Joey said. His involvement in community volunteer work, church activities, the Superintendent's Advisory Council, and he was also a four member of Cactus Shadows DECA and Student Council. From his Freshman year to his Senior year in high school, he served as the DECA student store manager, two years as the DECA Vice President, two years as the Falcon Feast and Fireworks coordinator, and Joey was also the assembly director this past school year. He is also very dedicated to his personal fitness goals.

Joey works at the Desert Foothills YMCA. He is a member attendant in the fitness center and a lifeguard in the aquatics department as well as a swim instructor and coach. Davis' college plans are to attend Arizona State University in the W.P. Carey business program and earn an entrepreneurial degree.
