THE COUNCILMAN ON THE LEFT

     After reading the August 21st edition of Carefree Truth, I could not help but to reflect on the fact that people attending Carefree Town Council meetings have seen Councilman Bob Coady firmly planted to their left on the council dais. This seemed a fitting position given Coady's very shallow defense of expensive and inefficient  modifications to the power generating plant on the Navajo

Reservation. Once again he showed his ignorance of the subject under discussion and worse, given that he is running for the local Republican Committee, showed his closet liberal leanings.

It is a shame that the people who are doing a good job for Carefree are constantly bombarded by the accusations and goofy ideas of a few malcontents and narcissistic attention seekers. 

 

The people who are serving Carefree well are quietly doing the detailed hard work.   Many of their tasks involve highly technical, legal, and financial issues.  It is clear to me that some Council members have the education and experience needed to understand those issues and they devote the long hours needed to "do their homework."  I appreciate their service to this community.  They understand that serving in town Council is about lots of hard work on mostly dull subjects for no pay and very little recognition. 

 

There are a few other Council members who are consistently unprepared at meetings and who waste everyone's time with silly questions and off-the-wall ideas.  The more they talk, the more they demonstrate (1) their ignorance of the issues, and (2) their un-ending need for attention.   Their  crude, combative, and bombastic style might  earn them respect in some locales, but it is badly out of place in Carefree.  The EPA should find a way to capture and utilize the hot air generated by Bob Coady.    

 

I urge all voters to attend a few Council meetings.

Mr. Stavoe is the thug. I have known Glenn and members of his family for many years. All really good people with good work ethics. Glenn will give the shirt off his back if someone needs it.
