NOTICE OF A MEETING OF THE CAREFREE PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION

WHEN: MONDAY, MARCH 18, 2013

WHERE: TOWN HALL COUNCIL CHAMBERS

TIME: 5:00 p.m.

Pursuant to A.R.S. Section 38-431.02, notice is hereby given to the members of the Planning and Zoning Commission of the Town of Carefree and to the public that the Commission will hold a meeting open to the public at 5:00 p.m. on MONDAY, MARCH 18, 2013 in the Town Hall Council Chambers at 100 Easy Street in Carefree.

THE AGENDA FOR THE MEETING IS AS FOLLOWS:

CALL TO ORDER, SILENT ROLL CALL and PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE.

AGENDA ITEM 1: APPROVAL OF MINUTES - Meeting of February 19, 2013.

AGENDA ITEM 2: PUBLIC HEARING, discussion and possible action on the following ZONING ORDINANCE TEXT AMENDMENT to create a new zoning district: Open Space-Recreation. Public comments will be taken.

REQUEST: APPROVAL of proposed TEXT AMENDMENTS TO THE CAREFREE ZONING ORDINANCE contained in:

 Article III. Administration, which would clarify the procedure for reviewing development plans in Open Space-Recreation zoning;

 Article IV. Zoning District Boundaries, which would list the new zoning district boundaries and;

 Article V. Uses Permitted in Each Zoning District and Additional Requirements and Clarifications for Uses permitted in Each Zoning District, which gives the uses permitted and development regulations.

AGENDA ITEM 3: DISCUSSION and possible action to go into Executive Session according to A.R.S. Section 38-431.03(A)(3) to obtain information or legal advice from the Town Attorney relating to Board of Adjustment duties and responsibilities or other procedural issues.

AGENDA ITEM 4: PUBLIC HEARING, discussion and possible action on the following ZONING ORDINANCE TEXT AMENDMENT to enable the Planning and Zoning Commission to act as the Board of Adjustment rather than the Town Council. Public comments will be taken.
