Lyn,

The attached letter is a copy of the email sent to members of the new Carefree Business Association.  The business community is very excited about the partnership between the town and our community, to market the ambience of Carefree.  Our request will go the council on Oct 5th.  We would be honored to have Carefree residents join our initiative at the council meeting and show their support of this very exciting marketing Campaign, to showcase Carefree.  See attached.

I am so pleased to announce that the first initiative of Carefree Business Association has passed it's largest hurdle to date.  Yesterday we  presented a mixed media marketing campaign, designed by Kim Prince, to the town. After a very impressive and impassioned presentation by several members of our marketing group, the town realized the very necessary need for this form of marketing in Carefree. They have tentatively approved a COOP budget of $12,000.00 for December, January, February and March.  We presented a mixed media campaign, including Phoenix Home and Garden, Phoenix Magazine, AZ Republic three day, City Sun Times and the AZ magazine, additionally, we have hired Kim Prince to do PR which will garner unpaid advertising for the town and our businesses, which is invaluable.  Kim placed the Christmas Festival on television 15 times last year,at no expense to the festival budget! This form of unpaid advertising is 3 times more valuable than a paid ad.

Our next hurdle in this campaign, is to present it to the town council for a vote.  It is critical that we have as many businesses at that meeting to support this effort and to sway the vote.  The meeting is Oct 5th at 5:00.  We are close to the top of the agenda; so you can leave after we make the presentation and the council votes. You can speak or not.  That truly is not critical. What is critical is that we have that chamber full of business people as a solid representation of businesses in this community. If you can't be there please send a representative.  If that is not possible, please emailGary@carefree.org with your support.  This is the first time in the town's history that they are offering funds for the businesses to market the town.  Don't let this opportunity pass.  Please come to the meeting and show your support as a Carefree business.

Be part of the solution to grow this town.   If you have questions feel free to call me. 480-595-8757

Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has. Margaret Meade
