NOTICE OF REGULAR MEETING

OF THE TOWN OF CAREFREE COMMON COUNCIL

WHEN: TUESDAY, OCTOBER 4, 2011

WHERE: CAREFREE TOWN HALL COUNCIL CHAMBERS

TIME: 5:00 P.M.

Pursuant to A.R.S. 38-431.02, notice is hereby given to the members of the Common Council of the Town of Carefree, Arizona and to the general public that the members of the Common Council will hold a meeting open to the public on Tuesday October 4, 2011 at 5:00 p.m. at the Carefree Town Hall Council Chambers located at 100 Easy Street, in Carefree.

The agenda for the meeting is as follows:

Call to Order, Silent Roll Call and Pledge of Allegiance.

CONSENT AGENDA

All items listed hereunder are considered to be routine by the Common Council and will be enacted by one motion. There will be no separate discussion of these items unless a Council member so requests, in which event the item will be removed from the consent agenda and will be discussed separately:

ITEM #1- A. Approval of September, 13 Regular Town Council Meeting Minutes.

2. B.Approval of September 20 Special Town Council Meeting Minutes.
   

100. C.Approval of September 20 Visioning Workshop for Stakeholders.
     

ITEM #2- Ratification of September 2011 paid bills.

ITEM #3- Approval of Proclamation making October 9-15, 2011 Soroptomist International Week and October 2011 Soroptomist Month.

ITEM #4- Approval of Resolution 2011-08, a Resolution of the Mayor and Town Council of the Town Of Carefree, Maricopa County, Arizona, requesting the Arizona Independent Redistricting Commission hold a Public Hearing in Carefree and consider the appropriate Congressional District for Carefree.

REGULAR AGENDA:

ITEM #5- Call to the Public: Consideration and discussion of comments and complaints from the public. Pursuant to Section 2-4-7 G of the Town Code and A.R.S. 38-431.01(G), those wishing to address the Council need not request permission in advance. Action taken as a result of public comment will be limited to directing staff to study the matter or rescheduling the matter for further consideration and decision at a later date. The public may address the Council on any matter not on the agenda. At the conclusion of an open call to the public, individual members of the public body may respond to criticism made by those who have addressed the public body, may ask staff to review a matter or may ask that a matter be put on a future agenda; however, the Council may not take action at this time. Please limit your comments to not more than 3 minutes.

ITEM #6- Acceptance of donation of $6,000 for refurbishment of Sundial from Kiwanis Club.

ITEM #7- Presentation and possible discussion by Kimber Lanning, Local First Arizona.

ITEM #8- Discussion and possible action regarding Resolution 2011-11 Transfer Consent Resolution for transfer of License from CoxCom LLC (Cox) to Cox Communications Arizona (Arizona LLC).

ITEM #9- Current Events

ITEM #10- Discussion and possible action regarding the cash receipts and disbursements report for August, 2011.

ITEM #11- Discussion and possible action regarding street closure on the north west bound lane and the south east bound lane from Mule Train Road to Pima Road for Sky Ranch Airport’s 50th Anniversary on Saturday, November 12 from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

ITEM #12- Discussion and possible action regarding street closure of Easy Street from Nonchalant to Sunshine, Sunshine to Cave Creek Road and Cave Creek Road east bound lane from Sunshine to Bloody Basin, Bloody Basin from Cave Creek Road to Nonchalant and Nonchalant from Bloody Basin to Easy Street on Saturday, December 10, 2011 from 2-10 p.m. for the Parade of Lights Christmas Parade and closure of Ho Hum Road from Easy Street to the northeast and northwest parking lots located at 100 Easy Street from 4 p.m. on Thursday, December 8 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, December 11 for the Christmas Festival.

ITEM #13- Discussion and possible action regarding a special event liquor license for the Carefree Christopher Columbus Association charitable fundraiser on Saturday, October 29 from 5:00 - 11:30 p.m. at Our Lady of Joy Catholic Church.

ITEM #14- Discussion and possible action regarding Liquor License 12077114, Interim Permit and New License, Series 12, Restaurant, for Minerva Moss, Duke’s Chop House LLC located at 99 Easy Street Suites 212-217, Carefree.

ITEM #15- Discussion and possible action regarding Liquor License 07070058, Location Transfer, Type 7, Liquor Store for Raymond Klemp, AZ Wine Company located at 100 Easy Street, Carefree.

ITEM #16- Discussion and possible action regarding a Section 125 Premium Only Plan for the Town of Carefree Staff.

ITEM #17- Discussion and possible action regarding a Wine Festival License #13073008 for Kokopelli Winery during the Thunderbird Art Festival Friday through Sunday, November 4-6, 2011 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
