NOTICE OF REGULAR MEETING

OF THE TOWN OF CAREFREE COMMON COUNCIL

 

 

 

WHEN: TUESDAY, JUNE 7, 2011

WHERE: CAREFREE TOWN HALL COUNCIL CHAMBERS

TIME: 5:00 P.M.

 

 

Pursuant to A.R.S. 38-431.02, notice is hereby given to the members of the Common Council of

the Town of Carefree, Arizona and to the general public that the members of the Common Council will hold a meeting open to the public on Tuesday June 7, 2011 at 5:00 p.m. at the Carefree Town Hall Council Chambers located at 100 Easy Street, in Carefree. Councilmember Gimson may attend telephonically. The agenda for the meeting is as follows:

 

 

Call to Order, Silent Roll Call and Pledge of Allegiance.

 

 

Administration of Oath of Office to the Mayor of Carefree.

 

 

Administration of Oath of Office to Elected Council Members.

 

 

Election of Vice Mayor and administration of Oath of Office.

 

 

CONSENT AGENDA

All items listed hereunder are considered to be routine by the Common Council and will be

enacted by one motion. There will be no separate discussion of these items unless a Councilmember so requests, in which event the item will be removed from the consent agenda and will be discussed separately:

 

 

ITEM #1- A. Ratification of May 3, 2011 Regular Town Council Minutes.

B. Ratification of May 24, 2011 Special Meeting Minutes.

 

 

ITEM #2- Ratification of May, 2011 paid bills.

REGULAR AGENDA:

 

 

ITEM #3- Call to the Public: Consideration and discussion of comments and complaints from the public. Pursuant to Section 2-4-7 G of the Town Code and A.R.S. 38-431.01(G), those wishing to address the Council need not request permission in advance. Action taken as a result of public comment will be limited to directing staff to study the matter or rescheduling the matter for further consideration and decision at a later date. The public may address the Council on any matter not on the agenda. At the conclusion of an open call to the public, individual members of the public body may respond to criticism made by those who have addressed the public body, may ask staff to review a matter or may ask that a matter be put on a

future agenda; however, the Council may not take action at this time. Please limit your comments to not more than 3 minutes.

 

 

ITEM #4- Current Events

 

 

ITEM #5- Discussion and possible action regarding the cash receipts and disbursements report for May, 2011.

 

 

ITEM #6- Discussion and possible action regarding the first reading of Ordinance 2011-03, Amending the Subdivision Ordinance.

 

 

ITEM #7- Discussion and possible action regarding the first reading of Ordinance 2011-04, amending Chapter 8, Sections 8-2-2 and 8-2-3 allowing a fee of $25 per estate sale and up to two estate sales per year.

 

 

ITEM #8- Discussion and possible action regarding tentative adoption of the Town of Carefree

Budget for Fiscal Year 2011-2012 and call for a special meeting and public hearing thereon.

 

 

ITEM #9- Discussion and possible action regarding Resolution 2011-05 to approve an early payoff of the lease/purchase agreement with Zions Bank for the 8 Sundial Circle building.

 

 

ITEM #10- Discussion and possible action to approve the Fifth Amendment to the

Intergovernmental Agreement between the Maricopa County Library District and the Town of Carefree for the Reciprocal Borrowing Program.

 

 

ITEM #11- Discussion and possible action regarding appointment of the Planning and Zoning Commission members.

 

 

 

Special Town Council Meeting:

On June 23rd at 3:00 PM, their will be a Town Council Workshop on "Carefree Future and Visioning".
