NOTICE OF REGULAR MEETING

OF THE TOWN OF CAREFREE COMMON COUNCIL

WHEN: TUESDAY, JULY 10, 2012

WHERE: CAREFREE TOWN HALL COUNCIL CHAMBERS

TIME: 5:05 P.M.

Pursuant to A.R.S. 38-431.02, notice is hereby given to the members of the Common Council of the Town of Carefree, Arizona and to the general public that the members of the Common Council will hold a meeting open to the public on Tuesday July 10, 2012 at 5:05 p.m. at the Carefree Town Hall Council Chambers located at 100 Easy Street, in Carefree.

The agenda for the meeting is as follows:

Call to Order and Silent Roll Call.

CONSENT AGENDA

All items listed hereunder are considered to be routine by the Common Council and will be enacted by one motion. There will be no separate discussion of these items unless a Councilmember so requests, in which event the item will be removed from the consent agenda and will be discussed separately:

ITEM #1- A. Approval of June 5, 2012 Town Council Regular Meeting Minutes.

2. B.Approval of June 12, 2012 Town Council Special Meeting Minutes.
   

ITEM #2- Ratification of June, 2012 paid bills.

ITEM #3- Approval of purchase of two replacement vehicles with higher fuel efficiency, one for the Building Department and one for Code Enforcement.

REGULAR AGENDA:

ITEM #4- Call to the Public: Consideration and discussion of comments and complaints from the public. Pursuant to Section 2-4-7 G of the Town Code and A.R.S. 38-431.01(G), those wishing to address the Council need not request permission in advance. Action taken as a result of public comment will be limited to directing staff to study the matter or

rescheduling the matter for further consideration and decision at a later date. The public

may address the Council on any matter not on the agenda. At the conclusion of an open

call to the public, individual members of the public body may respond to criticism

made by those who have addressed the public body, may ask staff to review a matter or

may ask that a matter be put on a future agenda; however, the Council may not take

action at this time. Please limit your comments to not more than 3 minutes.

ITEM #5- Current Events

ITEM #6- Discussion and possible action regarding the cash receipts and disbursements report for May, 2012.

ITEM #7- Discussion and possible action to approve the following road closures:

1) The complete closure of Sunshine Way from 2 to 5 pm

2) One lane restriction of Cave Creek Rd east from Sunshine Way to Mule Train Road

3) One lane restriction on Tom Darlington Drive from Stagecoach Pass to Bloody Basin Rd

on Saturday, October 20 from 2-5 p.m. for the American Parkinson Disease Association,

AZ “Oktoberfest for Parkinsons” event. The 5K run/walk is planned from 3 pm to 4

pm. From 4 to 5 pm the course will be opened up to a family fun bike ride on the same

loop. They would like permission to place orange traffic cones every few hundred yards

on the course so the participants will be able to follow them around as markers. The start

and finish of the 5K loop will be the Carefree Sundial.

ITEM #8- Discussion and possible action regarding installation of street pedestrian lights.

ITEM #9- Discussion and possible action regarding purchase and installation of Gardens walkway lights.

ITEM #10- Discussion and possible action regarding closure of Easy Street from HoHum to Carefree Drive, Saturday mornings from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m. for Venues Cafe Saturday Morning Classic and Hot Rod Breakfast from August 1, 2012 to August 1, 2013.
